That is excellent Big bro.. I read the chassis was a aluminum skinned stressed space frame?? Good stuff, that I am sure you will do justice..cant wait! I hope you didnt buy the decals from that seller, teresawulf that sells ink jet copies of Cady decals they are junk!! If there is a problem I think I may have a set of original Cady decals.. VERY COOL!
Pretty good choice of chassis. Not much of anything else that would be closer for a start.
The Hewland trans is a good choice, although in a McLaren Mk1A, a Collotti might be more likely.
I suggest you remove that dry sump pump off the front cover and IF you use a dry sump, it should be off the lower side of the block down near the pan rail and belt driven. The water pump should also be belt driven. Seat belts should be at least 5-point.
But all in all, it's great. What is the brand of the body shell? It looks like a K&B.

Hey Patrick...any progress pics of this cool build? I always like seeing your WIP builds.. Do you have a particular team in mind for this build? You've inspired me to look for a body (kit) of this type...

Now that's one really impressive start to a MK1A. Looking forward to your next update.
