Having the engine position locked in allows me to confirm clearance now. Had to adjust somethings but happy with this. Fabricated a simple rear bulkhead which is not provided in the kit. Had to shim out the front hubs and fabricate rear hubs to accept the aftermarket wheels.

As they say in Poker, I see your photo of the IROC Porsche at Riverside. The IROC garage at Riverside at the very 1st IROC event. I would have loved to have taken more and better photos at the time, but I just had a moment to spare in my duties as an official at the race. This photo was taken from just a few feet from where the photo JC posted was taken of the other Porsche in the Union race gas station.

Modified the kit Bosch fuel injector pump to more closely resemble the unit used on the SCRS. The unit will be mostly obscured under the air cleaner so didn’t see the need to super detail it but it will be plumbed. For those that may be so inclined here is the 1:1. Most race cars ran twin plugs per cylinder and dual coils, yep (14) wires coming out of the distributor. Thankfully the SCRS ran only single plug/coil. The pre-drilled distributor is from R&M. Fabricated a retention ring for the air cleaner screen.

Same headers but cast in white metal with megaphones. I bough SP's RSR transkit that includes a set of these.

- The rear wheels appeared to be cast with a domed shaped grease cap which would not be present at the rear hubs so I drilled it out.
- Opened the torsion bar access in the rear fender just ahead of the rear wheels – Porsche race cars almost never have these covers in place
- Subtly re-shaped the rear wheel opening - thought they were too flat at the top
- Working on the tires to soften the square edge of the tread surface and remove the sheen

Looks like Beemax had the same idea.

Love the Porsche! I have a stack of Enthusiast kits in the stash. Funny thing is, my wife is the only one to build one...and as her first build ever.
One question, are you building one...or three?

Sam, I was on my way to building the SCRS when Beemax announced their kit so I have stopped that build until I see what Beemax comes up with. I have a few more Fujimi EM based project mock-ed but haven't really started work on them. The only 911 Enthusiast build I have completed to date is the '70 Tour de France 911ST.

JC, Your conversion is simply amazing as your attention to detail is beyond what most of us would have attempted. Like you, I'll be buying the Beemax kit for sure. I'm just hoping that they release their 935K3 1st.

Great picture. I can't believe that the fans are allowed to get that close to the road. It's like having a death wish.
