Zanardi is one of my favorite drivers. Glad you're doing the build with a road course setup.

Did you clear coat the decals before application, and, if so, with what? I have had mixed results with Indycals and I'm wondering if it is the clear coat that I'm using.

I have never had to clear coat Indycals decals before use... I do use Testors Lacquer Ultra Clear over them after with no issues, should you have issues either way contact Michael at Indycals.net and he will replace any decals that you may have had an issue with. He is a great person and always stands behind his products.

Have a look at my Danny Sullivan build, the faded blue decal on the nose went down with no issues at all. Great decals and very easy to use, and as Chris says if it’s within 12 months he has his Oops protection, can’t ask for more.

My understanding is that you need to clear coat Alps printed decals before application to prevent the inks from running. Indycal's website vaguely references clear coating the decals with all but enamel clear coats. I know Indycals recently switched from Alps printing to a different method, but I don't know how to tell what method was used to print the decals I already own. I have clear coated the decals with Krylon spray can gloss clear, Future, and Microscale decal film with the best results coming from Future clear coated decals, but all were prone to silvering and refusing to conform to even slightly uneven or unlevel surfaces

I agree the engine is a nice casting and should add significantly to the the build.

The engine looks great! Who/what makes the engine?
