I found a wonderful read this morning www.speedhunters.com/2015/08/turbo-spirit-the-imsa-gto-mustang/ . I started to think about something after reading and watching a good deal... I Have to admit I would say 100% of you folks know far more than I ever will about A. Classic racing cars, B. Classic Trans Am cars, C. Just about every other kind of racing car on the planet. I'm very serious about this. I started really late getting into building models, 1989....my hook, walking into a Walmart and passing the White #11 IMSA GTO Motorcraft Mustang Scott Pruett drove. At the time I had a 1987 Merkur XR4Ti and was into all things Merkur. Immediately I thought surely this is close enough to turn into a Merkur having absolutely NO idea how just that some how this could happen....and as they say that was the name of that tune. HOOKED!! I'm not going into a lot of history here, BUT my primary interest other than Chaparrals of course, has always been the "tin tops" The above article reminded me of that. I was trying to do this car. (after having built a few models with pretty good results) I had just about everything imaginable ready to go on this but that final ummph. It languished and eventually all things gathered were lost. Long story short, I know a fair amount about the above mentioned time period GTP cars not much before that and certainly nothing now. I am probably pretty single minded on this but you folks are "learning me good" about all the other types of vehicles I never knew about or even existed.. Anyhow enough of that I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday, Merry Christmas again!

I've been following road racing on and off most of my life, and I'm 71 now, so I thought I knew a lot. Well, it took all of 5 min here to find out that I really know very little. So Motorsport Modeling to me is way more then just a modeling site. I'm not only learning new modeling skills, but I'm constantly getting a 1st class education on motorsports. It just doesn't get much better then that. Joel
