Yes, I tried it recently after reading about it on several car forums. So far, I’ve only used it to replicate stainless tie down straps and the bare metal parts of airplane oleo struts, but I really like it. As an experiment, I “colored” a ~1 square inch patch to see if you could get an evenly covered surface and it skimmed over into a solid layer as advertised. I’ve seen posts and YouTube videos showing how to airbrush it, but I haven’t tried it yet. It does take a while to dry, unlike metalizer paint. Give it a few hours before handling.

Based on what I've seen on Youtube and the forums, it looks like you can get very good results airbrushing the parts. For example, see the third post here: link Cheers! Ben

Thanks for the info! I have a couple of kits in my stash that will need polished metal wheels. Even when it “drawn” on, I think it looks more realistic that chromed parts.
Cheers!

W.Brown, What did you use for airbrush clean up? Over primer or bare plastic?
I’m new to airbrushing, but I’m impressed with your results and want to give it a try!

I believe it is recommended to spray it over gloss black, I use my regular medium reducer ( lacquer thinner basically ) for all airbrush clean up, then I disassemble the airbrush and thoroughly clean it out with the same, a airbrush brush and q-tips, I soak the ferrels and small piece then carefully clean with the brush.. Thank you Chris and Bill, I think that’s all the info I need to give it a try! I’ll follow up with results in a few days.

Bill, Thank You for your response on Lacquer thinner vs. Alcohol for the clean up on the Chrome spray, if I use it I will use that method. Notice i said if.. I am a firm believer and have noticed that a majority of the Race cars I build and am interested in have no or very little chrome, more a bit of polished aluminum, which I will usually use actual polished aluminum to replace the plastic bits. Thanks Again Chris
