Box stock, not my very best work, but will work for a shelfer. I had trouble getting the body to sit correctly on the chassis. I ended up gluing the front bumper to the body shell instead of the chassis as the instructions directed. This helps mask the body fit issues, though now the hood assembly is heavy making it inclined to droop. The body was painted with Tamiya sprays, TS-44 Brilliant Blue, TS-26 Pure White, and TS-13 Clear. The white for the quarterpanels was included on the decal sheet, but I opted to paint it instead. I also masked around the large Hot Wheels decal, though some bleed rough is visible where my separation lines weren’t perfect. This kit is from the era when R/M decals were pretty bad, so it was a struggle to get a final product I was satisfied with. I did make the mistake of using Solvaset on the hood decal causing it to irreparably wrinkle around the edges. Lesson learned. Despite its faults, I’m fairly happy with how this car turned out. It’s not show quality by any means, but it does look good on the shelf.

Good looking model! I'm not surprised the decals were challenging.

Rob very clean and precise you touch my heart with this one. Trans Am & IMSA "TIN TOPS" are my main interests along with a stray Chaparral every once and a while. Your other stuff looks top notch also. Welcome to the "club".

Cool! Looks good despite the issues you mention. I've always wanted to do that car but never got it. Maybe it is time to hunt down a copy. Thanks for the inspiration!

In the early 2000s there was a shop specializing in diecast cars, like HotWheels near where I was working. I stopped in occasionally to see what they had. One feature of the shop was a large decoration on the wall. It was the left side of the body work of the Jack Baldwin Hot Wheels Camaro. Full scale from the race car. Not a reproduction. They also had a nose piece from the Petty Racing 1970 Plymouth Superbird #40 driven by Pete Hamilton. That was a bit crunched.
Nice model here. I've always felt that the front ride height of that Roush Mustang chassis could use a little lowering, and will in my Hot Wheels Camaro. But yours still looks great. I think that graphic design would be tough with any brand of decals.
