Hello, This is the other project I finished in 2018. I'll first summarize the WIP in 2 or 3 posts and then will follow with the finished model. Ron Fellows is one of the most important drivers and primary responsible for bringing the current Corvette Racing program up and running. Also one of my all time favorite race car drivers as well. By 2007 he was retiring from active racing driving, but to remain very active as a team's consultant for years to come. To celebrate his accomplishments, GM offered a Ron Fellows Special Edition Z06 Corvette, each one personally signed by him. In the 2007 Sebring 12 hour race, the #3 car (Chassis C6R-005) he was co-driving with Johnny O'Connell and Jan Magnussen was painted white with maple leaf red hash marks, like his special edition. But Canadian Ron Fellows was also known as the "Mayor of Mosport" as the Ontario venue was his home track. So for the 2007 IMSA Grand Prix of Mosport, they surprised everybody by entering a third C6R (Chassis C6R-003) in the Ron Fellows special edition white color scheme. Andy Pilgrim was his co-driver for that race. Since both main cars were in the race as #3 and #4, this car raced as #33. Here is a pic from the internet on that car. I started with Revell's C6R kit. Since I already did a fully detailed C6R, this time I am going simpler with a curbside. Started adding material to tighten the door gaps and filled the incorrect exhaust ports. The kit represents the show car, so it needs to be modified for this specific race configuration. Also added material to both sides of the hood to tighten the gaps. Now here is the catch: This was done in 2008! This project was stalled for a decade! And here is the rest of the project after restarting it in 2018: Removed the molded cooler and machined my own: Thanks,

Hello again: Part 3: Keeping with the box stock theme........ The car is now legal for certification. You see, this type of race cars don't have a VIN #, but they must have a manufacturing plate with a serial number and manufacturing date. You can't see it but as per the 1:1 the home made plate says: Corvette Racing Pratt & Miller Engineering and Fabrication Chassis # C6R-003 Manufacturing date: 9-28-2005 Probably the hardest part of this build was the wheels. Resin prototype wheels from 2008 that never went into production. These is the only set in existence so there is no plan B. Sure enough, the last one put up a fight... But I won the battle The rear bumper's Jake decal was missing. I had to print my own. And waste half a decal sheet for a decal that s less than an eighth of inch square. Last Video clip:

Finally, the finished model! Ron Fellows is one of the most important drivers and primary responsible for bringing the current Corvette Racing program up and running. Also one of my all time favorite race car drivers as well. By 2007 he was retiring from active racing driving, but to remain very active as a team's consultant for years to come. So for the 2007 IMSA Grand Prix of Mosport, held on August 26, they surprised everybody by entering a third C6R (Chassis C6R-003) in the Ron Fellows special edition white color scheme. Andy Pilgrim was his co-driver for that race. Since both main cars were in the race as #3 and #4, this car raced as #33. The car came in 3rd place behind the other 2 Corvettes completing 116 laps. The race was only 2 hours and 45 minutes and the weather was good. So at the end the car was not as dirty as after a long endurance race like Sebring, Daytona or LeMans. That's why I did not weather it. This car, chassis # C6R-003, was eventually sold to an european private team (Luc Alphand) in 2008. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in a massive transporter fire in 2009. Started with Revell C6R. Speedline decals. Too many mods to list. I think only the windshield, back glass, headlight covers and tail lights are the only non modified kit's parts in this build. If you concentrate looking at the pictures, you can hear it idling.... Hey! Look who came to play! My first C6-R (fully detailed) built over 10 years ago! The wiper is in raised position in the yellow car. That's why it looks weird from this angle Hope you like it! Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, yet another amazing build.
I'm almost ashamed to post my builds, as my work is so far removed from what you guys do as 2nd nature.

Very nice work Ismael. Just an additional tidbit of info on Ron Fellows and Mosport, it's not just his home track - he owns it.
(an upcoming project of mine will be a Ron Fellows AER Trans Am Camaro - stay tuned)

Ismael, Just another quick post, as I went through the entire epic build thread again. OMG!!! the more I looked, the more I saw. Even the window and side drivers netting looks basically in scale. And the 3 Vids were certainly a treat.
BTW, I've "borrowed" several of your techniques that solved several of my build issues. So thanks in advance for those.
I was fortunate to race just once in a Enduro Kart race at Mosport in my championship 1971 season. A memory that will last forever.

Joel Joel, never feel like you can't post builds because you think they are inferior in some way - that's nonsense. Each and everyone of us build at different skill levels, but the thing we all have in common is that we love to build models - and if we didn't want to see other builds then we wouldn't be on this forum ... at least that's the way I see it

Joel They changed the track a little since you and I were on it Joel, its been widened to FIA specs and completely repaved, somewhat faster overall if anything. But I'll bet dropping down into 2A still has a sphincter factor of about 10. Shannonville was my home track, thats where you learned how to ride. Mosport was where you found out if you could.

Paul, Believe me, I scared myself more then just silly the 1st few laps I took. My championship season I won every dry race but one: Mosport as I finished a poor 5th, 3rd on a wet/damp track, and 2 DNFs. Outside of my races at Bridgehampton, the Mosport race is the one I most remember.
