Hello, As you know I'm working on the 2016 LeMans class winner racing Ford GT. This side project will be a companion road car. I like the looks of the car, but its way down in my list of cars to buy if I hit the powerball (not that you can get it anyways). So I'm not going for the Tamiya kit. Instead, I'll just slap together a Revell snapper I picked in my recent trip to Houston. The body is molded in metallic blue. So it is a matter of just polishing it and.... Oh ohh.... you didn't think for a moment I was going to do that, right? Some coercion was needed but the stubborn body is now apart. I'll work mold lines, primer and paint it..... METALLIC BLUE! I've never claimed to be normal... Thanks, Ismael

I'm know I'll enjoy seeing this snapper get The Treatment. From what I've seen these kits are well-rendered enough to result in a very convincing final product. Looking forward to more...

Thanks Bernard! Primer was worked and reworked and reworked until it was perfect. Then I applied the first coat of Gravity Colors Ford GT Lightning Blue... ...and it looks exactly like the plastic we started with..... Hmmmmm I would have preferred Liquid Blue which is a hint lighter but it is too late for that. Lightning blue it is. After all, it is just a Ford Thanks, Ismael

Thanks for posting this Ismael. I picked one up and have been wondering what to do with it. Maybe a retro paint scheme.

Hello, Final color coat is on! No drama so far. Only some minor scratches had to be sanded before final coat of paint. Next step: Clear. And of course, everything else Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, You're way braver then I sir. The body prep is outstanding as the final color coat really looks perfect. And to think it's not a Corvette.

Hello, Why is my elbow hurting again? I guess I need to stop polishing then... Can I? Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, Now that's some shine. It sure seems that the effort was well worth it. Joel

Hello, Back home after been out of town for over a week. This sucker is putting up a fight. More precisely, the paint job is putting up a fight. I'm on my 3rd repaint and I'm running dangerously low on the paint. Hard to see in the pic but it is still blotchy and uneven. The forward game plan is a light color sand and one final color coat. If that doesn't work, I may need to change to another color. Yes, I'm stubborn. Thanks, Ismael
