Nice to see an update on this Jim. The brake caliper detail is simple but very effective.

Jim, As JC said, those calibers really do like good. Glad to see another update. Joel

I've been doing a little more work here and there. I had stripped all of my chrome parts from the AMT PC-17 kit with EZ-Off oven cleaner and then cleaned then up with soap and water. Some time ago I received a set of the proper wheel covers from Schnouzer. I painted the wheels flat black and then affixed the wheel covers and then painted them black along with the suspension parts. I also had some resin tires from Silver City Models. I cleaned them up and painted them with Tamiya Rubber Black. I then clear gloss coated them and added 80s/90s Goodyear decals from Indycals. Once the decals were applied I then flat coated the tires. Finally I got around to decaling and clear coating the car with the 1989 Winner decals from Indycals. Well that's it for now. Jim

Jim, Love how your tires came out. And the full Marlboro paint scheme glossed and prepped to the nth degree is certainly museum quality for sure. Joel

Jim, Thanks for adding to the list of excellent modelers here, but in reality, I'm just Mr. Average Joe Modeler.

Here’s a brief update on some of the things I’ve been working on. Gerald from the Indy Car Modeling board had asked about the rear wing support. I had made it a while ago, but just got around to painting it. Here it is mounted on the rear of the transmission. As you can see I have some more painting to be done on the engine and transmission, it's not finished. I also need to add the headers turbo charger and exhaust. Not much more will fit under the resin body. However, it will give substance to the finish build. I did finish up the wheels and tires. I also painted and added my brake discs with calipers. Jim

Thanks much for the updates, Jim. I'm still watching ! Looking terrific so far, much better than mine will end up being when I get to it. But I really appreciate you sharing your WIP to encourage and inspire me when I do mine. Cameron

Thanks Cameron and Rob for your kind comments. There are some really good modelers here at Motorsport and some really cool subjects. Along with some great tips. I really just don't get the time to post all that often here. You would never know that I am retired, I feel like I do more work now then when I was working, I'm just not getting the pay! LOL! Some good advice, don't ever retire! LOL!

Jim, The rear wing mount really looks quite good especially with that wield beading. And the tires look like the lettering was printed on. They're just perfect. Joel
