Does anyone know how to contact DDP Model Kits, or what retailers sell these kits? There is no info on the DDP Facebook page. (I'm interested in his Mirage M6.)
Thanks,
Mike

I’ve found a dealer in the Netherlands: www.racingkars.com/en/category/20-scale-1-24Ordered the Elford/Siffert 908K only a few days ago, so no feedback to offer, other than to say that the dealer is very responsive and communicates well by e-mail. If the kit and customer service both turn out right, I’m looking at one of those cute little Abarths next.

I forgot I posted this. I found the same guy (on the F1M board) and ordered a Mirage kit from him. Kit looks good and service is great. RacingKars.com may be the only outlet for these kits.

DPP Models have a Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/ddpmodels/ . They have 117 photos showing their range of models. Most appear to be curbsides, but some feature some engine detail as appropriate. They specialize in my favorite period of sports racing cars, the 60's "aero" period, and include some of my holy grails like the Lola Mk.VI GT and the regular-tail Porsche 906. They all seem to be European cars and include several Can Am and hillclimb variants. Very, very cool stuff. They aren't cheap but look quite well made and are priced at would you'd expect from such a specialist manufacturer.

They do have an interesting set of fringe offerings for 1/24, don’t they? The previously-unmodeled in this scale 908K, that Ferrari 212 E one-off flat-12 hillclimb devourer-of-all, those kooky little Abarths, and, yes, the Lola... All things that make me smile.
They and Profil24 will have me eating ramen and rolling my own cigarettes soon.

They make a Mirage GT40 (see pic) which is very tempting but I built one years ago from the Mini Exotics resin trans kit so one was enough for me.

The DDP 908K body casting is sitting in my lap as I type. Initial impressions: Dealing with RacingKars is a breeze. He communicates well, packs well, ships immediately upon receipt from the manufacturer, and doesn’t misspell your mailing address. Kit came with the two extra sets of clear parts I requested, cockpit and headlamp glazing, both. (Offered to pay for them, and provided at no charge.). That’ll be a huge confidence boost for me in getting this thing built. The overall shape of the body looks pretty darn good from the firewall forward. Aft of that....hmm. I’m gonna have myself a bit of fun final-shaping/correcting the wheel arches and maybe adding a bit of meat to the curve of the butt. There are no instructions. Having abundant prototype references is a must. Body, floorplate, and detail castings are going to require A LOT of cleanup. But I expected that. What I didn't expect was the reasonably well-cast detail at the ends of the tiny exhaust stub castings. Nice surprise. The four-part photoetched windshield wiper looks like a Swiss watchmaking school’s practical final exam piece. The tires are very soft vinyl, and I managed to crack one of the rears in multiple quadrants while idly dry-fitting its resin rim through it. Going to need to pit for replacements...if they exist in aftermarket. May as well go for better rims at the same time. This is definitely not a Model Factory Hiro-level kit, though it’s priced like one, but since it’s the only 908K coupé kit I’ve ever heard of in 1/24th, and this guy bothered to model it, and it’s here in my hands, looking like parts of something that could only have howled straight out of 1968, and because I’ve got a signed print of the photo below hanging in my office at work, I’m beaming.

I'd say Clowncar is pleased. I've seen the Facebook page and pictures of buildups. Nice to get some insight to how it looks unbuilt. Hopefully you can get some tires or find replacements which should not be too hard. This picture is off the FB page.

It’s starting to smell like I could just do what I did a hundred years ago for my Deeks RS60 kit... I bought a Fujimi 356 for the wheels, tires, and a few cockpit detail parts. In this case, it’d be a Fujimi 917. But I’m awaiting confirmation from our resident late 60s Le Mans car experts in another thread.
