I just joined as a result of a mention about this board by JC Reckner (afx) on the TRaK board. I'm a longtime hot rod, straightline and custom car modeler who has always had a broad and deep interest in all forms of motorsport. Lately I've been expanding modeling horizons to include sports car and road racing subjects as well, so this seemed like a good place to join. So far I only have a few non-hot rod projects completed, but I do have quite an array of drag racing, dry lakes and dirt track models to share. By way of introduction I'll post a few of my personal favorites in the appropriate sections. I recognize a few names on the board but I'm surprised at how many fine modelers are here whose work I haven;t seen before.
Looking forward to catching up, B.

Bernard, Welcome aboard. I love anything with 4 wheels, especially the racing variety. So I can assure you that all your builds will be welcomed here, as they all have a home to post them for us to enjoy. Just checked out your posted builds, and you're quite an accomplished builder for sure.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm really enjoying playing catch up on all the great modeling posted here. One thing I'm particularly enjoying is that you all actually talk about stuff in your posts. Sharing your skills, interests, and enthusiasm like that is infectious and makes the daunting task of bringng myself up to speed a great pleasure. If I could make a single request it would be to add the "Updated Threads" button to the top of the page next to the Home ... Messages butons. I know it's an option on ProBoards. I've added the following bookmark - race-car-models.proboards.com/threads/recent - to my browser so whenever I check in I can see what's been happening since my last visit. It's my default on all my modeling forums. But once I start drilling down into individual threads or going through My Back Pages then right now I have to go back to my bookmarks. Not a big deal but something to think about. Welcome to the Board Bernard, ... You will have to tell us how you make those Great Decals.. Chris Thank you, Chris. I;ll probably do a post on decals when I have a chance. It's certainly a key part of my build style. At this point I have quite a dew decal projects under my belt, but I'm only just now starting to work with an ALPS custom decal suppplier, so white and metallics are new to my palate. Anyway, thanks again to all of you for the welcome.
