Jim, Thanks so much for the thumbs up. I've waited nearly 2 years for the kit to be released, and just about gave up on it, then it showed up on Free Time Hobbies, and I jumped on it. So there is a modeling God after all. Joel

Love it Joel! Excellent job! I would display with the engine covers off like the last pic. Too nice to be covered. Like I said before, love the different metal shades. Thanks, Ismael Ismael, So glad you approve of my most models efforts, as coming from a builder of your calibur yourself is a real compliment. I've actually started my next build, which couldn't get any further from the Ebbro BT18. Joel

Terrific job, Joel! Now I know I'll need to get this kit. I love 60's racers so was very interested when it was announced, but when the price was revealed, it was something of a shock compared to the other Ebbro kits I've bought, and it curbed my rush to buy this one. Bottom line is that not only would I build more Ebbro kits, I've got 3 more in my small but ever growing stash, no matter how hard I try to keep it in check. The theory that I'll build most of them when I retire doesn't work for me, as I've been retired for more then a year now. As far as I'm concerned, retirement is really a vacation that just never ends Admirable trying to keep your stash under control. My problem is in my 45 years of modeling, there have been instances where I've seen a kit I was interested, but told myself "I'll get it later", but later (sometimes being the same day!) when I decided to buy it, it was gone.
And I'm still using the "when I retire" story...
Thanks much for sharing your WIP with us.

Cameron, Same here as the cost of the kit was kind of "Sticker Shock" compared to most of the other Ebbro kits. They basically have held the price line since the release of the lotus 40A, so we really can't complain. The BT18 is just a fantastic kit. You'll enjoy every min of the build for sure. I still have most of their F1 cars still on my gotta have list, but I'm now maintaining my stash with build one/buy one. At my age, I really don't want to be known as the winner of the he "died with the most kits" contest.
Like you, the 60s is still my era, as passing time has only made it that much more special.
And thanks so much for the thumbs up, as it means quite a lot to me. While I'm no where near the class of a lot of the guys here, I try my best, and really enjoy sharing my work. To me this is a very special list. As long as it has 4 or even 2 wheels, it has a home here, and the build is appreciated. Can't say that about to many other lists.

Bill, Have no worries, you're not late to the party. Glad that you like my most modest of efforts. I still talk to some of my old time Aircraft buddies, and they keep on telling me not to bother to come back. Joel

I don't think you need to worry about that. At a recent meeting of the car model club I belong to, we went around the room saying how many kits we had in our stash (all types of models, not just vehicles). The low was less than a dozen, and one admitted to having over two thousand. The majority of the approximately 40 members attending gave numbers in the hundreds.

Cameron, 2,000 kits!!! OMG, he must need a zoning waver to commercial from residential to house that many kits. I use to belong to the local IPMS club that while claiming to be in my home county, was actually in the next county over, (the main reason I'm not a member now, as I have a very hard time driving at night these days). Anyway, a few members while builders were also kit collectors/buyers of aircraft kits with the reasoning that the value of these kits would only increase over time. Time has proven both basically wrong for a multitude of reasons. Now I run into both at regional and local contests/conventions where they spend their time at rented tables trying to sell off these outdated kits for literally pennies on the dollar. Almost every single subject has been redone at least once as technology has progressed. Those few truly collector kits are just that, but are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Joel

Well done! You matched the stance of the car. JJ66, thanks for the thumbs up, it's greatly appreciated. As for matching the stance of the car, I've been working on that over the last few builds as part of the picture presentation through the build. But what I ran into and failed to correct was the issues with the direct frontal lighting. I'll certainly work on it moving forward. What I really liked about it was the more of a real car presentation then I usually end up with. Joel
