Cal Club era '57 Corvette Road Racer(More photos below) I built this last year as Part One of a 3 version project, starting with this basic production racer. This was to be followed by a Custom Show Car variation and then a Bonneville cariant. Part Two was completed and Part 3 is nearing completion now. The paint scheme is based on a a custom printed set of decals to me design for the roundels, bumbers and scallops. The motor is a Revell Parts Pak small block nestled in the Monogram '57 'Vette that formed the basis for the build. The rolling stock is are AMT steelies and Firestones. Thanx for lookin', B.

This build has a great period sports racer feel to it with those skinny Firestones and steelies. I have the Monogram '57 Vette in the stash and it is a great kit IMHO.

It definitely captures the period club racing look. Nice work.

Thanks to you all. I'm glad this model succeeded in evoking the period - that's the point of the exercise! And yes, that Monogram kit has some very nice details including a sweet separate chassis. Everything comes together well, too. A great basis for the kind of high quality modeling so prevalent on this forum.
