Greetings! I will probably spend the weekend on my computer searching through the info here. Sure glad there is a spell checker! Grew up in Southern California and happily migrated to South Carolina 10 years ago... able to keep my "USC" hat although the colors are a little different. 71 and building models since Ed Roth's Tweedy Pie. Family owned a slot car shop in the 60's and I had saved most everything in a series nicely stacked boxes until the Northridge earthquake in 94. I remember running through my pitch dark room stepping on 40 years of my history but what the heck. Looking forward to shopping, learning and meeting some of you guys. Thanks

Welcome to the board, Where was your Dads slot car shop? Yeah I was at Lindley and Devonshire. in 1994 and it was mass destruction around us, I had just put all 1300 model kits in a spare bedroom on racks in order the day before and it was waist high in there after, couldnt open the door to get in for weeks.. Didnt have any built ups left after Northridge either.. Chris

Welcome to the board. I'm a slot car guy too as you might suspect from my avatar.

House was never the same. "Autotopia" was two doors West of the LaReina and across from Flookys on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks. 2 good sized tracks from late 63 until I got drafted in 67. Amazingly the guys on the "Beaver Racing Team" from those days all still survive. The five of us traveled all over SoCal from 64 to 66 racing. Really good times.

Welcome to the forum! Good to have you with us. Went through some minor earthquakes when I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, but nothing catastrophic. I remember all our shelves had lips on them to keep stuff from vibrating off. Live in Florida now, where we do have catastrophic hurricanes, but at least we get some advance warnings! Thanks for joining in.
