I CA glue a small 1/4 square x 1/2 long piece of styrene tubing to the inside the roof or where a little 1/4 square wont be seen, also where I can get it a bit balanced. Then I use Hemostats to hold it, this allows me to turn and rotate the part/body easily and I can paint the inside of the body too. I start on the inside and work up the sides painting the roof and top in 2 directions, length and sideways to insure full even coverage. I clamp it in a small vise to sit horizontal , no drips, after it dries and Im done with all the coats inc, clear, I just grab the piece of styrene tubing and snap it off.. I have had many paint stands and etc. but this is my preferred method. I have a standing rule, Paint Everything, except chrome and I will spray semi gloss or flat on chrome to tone it down, inside and out. I have never seen a real car that wasnt. If there is any raw material, on the real car then paint it to match. Simple..Chris

Chris, Now that's an outstanding paint method. I'm still at the stage of two sided tape on a bottle top. Joel

I am debating the wheels and tires now, I dont like the fit of the wheels on those tires, I do like the tires though.. I fit a set of chrome steel wheels from a 60's AMT parts pak and they fit better, I can always strip them and paint them but just for shitz and giggles I threw some Cragar SS style wheels on and now I am up in the air.. gotta think about this.. I am looking at the paint and it came out so nice I am debating clear coating it or just polishing it out... Drama drama drama.. more to come as I work on the chassis and get it up on all fours..Chris

Good progress. Just picked up a couple of '64s and your build will be an inspiration to get something done with them.

Kelly, nice to hear you could find a couple of these kits, they are pretty much unobtainium around the west coast. But I wouldnt mind having another, yeah since I have about 90 Corvette kits right now... well I will be very happy when this one is done.. Chris

You've got more Vettes in a box then I've been alive in years, and I'm getting up there as I passed the 70 mark. So my new goal is out live your Vette collection. Joel

Chris,
you really needed to put a Sun Glass Needed warning in a post right before the picture one. Now that's some deep Red shine.

A detail up date, Hood ornament, steering wheel and gas cap, Painting the colors in the photo etch was a pain but the results speak for themselves. I am attaching the photo etch with Testors glosscoat on the back, I did use CA on the Hood Ornament , wish I hadnt so I could move it around a bit more but Oh well it came out alright.. Starting on the dash, gauges and misc more to come later.. I used the original photos for the steering wheel and had to make a tapered ring to go behind the emblem, horn button and fit the spokes into the steering wheel ring so it was a couple of hours deal and now consists of 4 pieces Enjoy Chris
