Chris, Wow!! You really made a lot of progress. I just looked at your rear window, and I can't see any issues with it, so what's the problem? Joel Its not in the pic ! When I went to test it the window is about 1/4 inch to long on the sides and interferes with the bock of the interior tub or vary close and i think I can get a better overall fit if I shorten the sides... Chris Chris, That makes perfect sense. I've never had much luck trying to cut clear plastic, but a sanding stick takes a lot time, but always works for me. Joel

Thanks Joel and Mark, wow thats a seriously nice saw!! Dremel recently came out with a new line of larger , very thin plastic cutting disc's ( about 1 1/2 dia. ) and with a speed control it was easy to cut with minimal melting, and no cracking..Not bad for a 50+ year old kit... I have two window and neither fit well at all with bad gaps all around, so I cut one down and it fit much better but not up to standards so I and going to cut one from sheet clear styrene today and see if I can make one just a bit better, a story and pics to follow.. Many of those old race cars just used a sheet of plexiglass to replace the heavy stock safety glass used by the factory. Depends on the class raced in and the rules that governed it.
If you have a Dremel, a speed controller is a must, no doubt. Once I found out there is a world of motor tool accessories outside of the Dremal brand name, it's amazing what is available....

Just a couple of items left and its done, I am thinking a 64 SCCA Corvette would use Lap Belts? I did make a 3 point roll bar for it but beyond that and a fire extinguisher thats all the Safety equipment needed? I didnt realized until this morning that the last front view pic is way out of wack...looks like a slight camber problem on the front tires!!! or Just using VW settings? LOL!!! I still have not figured out the windows as you can see they really fill badly.. Chris

Chris, I for one have complete confidence in you and your abilities to figure out those window issues. And yes, the front tires, especially the left front is really out of alignment. I'm quite sure it's easy enough for you to fix.

I am actually still trying different tires from the parts box and they are not attached yet. I like the fronts but the rear have a round side wall that holds the body slightly up and I would like to drop it about 1/8 inch. The Stance is pretty close, so as I figure that and the class out I am searching my 5 or so notebooks full of decals for just the right ones.. So again more to come... Chris

Chris, I should have known better that the tire issue was a temp thing. But the glass seems to be a much more involved and difficult issue to solve.

Chris, about the rear glass. You might look at blister packing or plastic drink bottles. Sometimes you can find the right shape and cut a new one. Also if you make mold and vacuum form one. Other wise its looking good.

Chris, Congrats on crossing the finish line. A well deserved win for sure. The '64 Vette came out looking simply outstanding. The Red gloss paint really makes it stand out.
I'm really looking forward to following you completing your Union/Heller FIII car. Honestly, I've never seen this kit before especially built up, so I googled it. Seems that there's quite a lot of discussion on exactly what this kit is a model of. The closest I can come is that it's a BT15 which was their F3 car for 1965-66, and that is the car that Chris Irwin drove powered by a Cosworth engine. I'm sure that you've got a lot of research to really do this difficult kit justice.
