So I’ve got a couple of 1/24th scale resin kits to take a stab at this summer, and the most intimidating thing I’m facing is screwing up the courage to cut, shape, and fit the vacuformed windshields and headlight covers. Anyone know of a classic tutorial on the topic?

Hello, I'm on the road so typing on the phone is not a joy. Only secret is patience. Always cut bigger than needed and start trimming very little at a time. Every time you trim do a test fit. I use siccors and switch to files for the last millimiters. I typically start at a corner and continue fitting along the perimeter. I try to make it a snug fit to minimize glue usage. Once trimmed I use white glue or aircraft canopy glue (very similar). Plastic cement will not work and CA will fog it. Clear epoxy may also work. But remember you are not looking for structural integrity. Only to stay in place. Don't overglue it. Hope this helps.
Thanks, Ismael

It really *does* help, because it reinforces what I’d intuited the answer might be. (But it never hurts to ask, because maybe someone’s come up with a killer hack.)
Thank you for taking the time and trouble. Safe roads to you.
