Guys, I want to Thank Everyone for all the Great Posts and Attachments that are added daily, but we have a Problem. This is New to me, The space allotted for attachments is running out..AGAIN. On June 8 I bought an additional 100MB ! of space and as of this morning we had exceeded that by 185K in 12 Days we have added so much that its gone. Here are solutions, I go back and Delete attachments from way back when the board started , that would be kind of like erasing History and I know a bunch of people like to read and view that history, I do. Or buy additional space at the cost of $10. per 100MB.. I paid for the last addition but cant continue to do that.. So a Fund Drive to get additional space ?, Require all attachments in the form of Links ? OR Delete old attachments to get back some space ? I am OPEN for Suggestions but We will run out of space with in a the next day or so... LMK Chris

By Attachments do you mean photos and files that are stored here on the ProBoards servers? This is as opposed to photos, for example, which are served up from another server such as Fotki, imgbb, Photobucket, etc. If so one way to mitigate the storage issue is to navoid using the Forum as a host for such data (images, etc.). There are many fine and Free image hosting service for example. In my case I use imgbb. Fotki, while not completely free, is used by quite a significant part of the car modeling community and users like its convenience and reliability.

By attachments I mean photos and files that you add when you hit "add attachment" It doesnt mean photos downloaded from servers like Fotki, I use fotki too and have unlimited storage at $34. per year and had managed to fill up the free portion rather quickly but I have been on there for since 2009. A quick Note to Everybody, I would like to add 10,000MB at the cost of $74.03 that would last a while I would think. If everybody would like to help out I am sure a few donations could raise that quickly. With my recent surgery and medical expenses it is out of my budget for a bit or I would cover it again... Chris

You could delete all the old and obsolete posts with pics from the For Sale and Trade and Wanted sections. We do that on a few other Pro Boards forums with good results. Looks like there are posts there that go back to 2013. Just a thought.

Chris Shoot out a PayPal account, and I'm willing to contribute at least $50, and challenge the rest of the membership to come up with the balance of $25.

Very kind of a member to step up. The long term solution is for members to use a photo hosting sites in lieu of adding attachments straight from their computer. As Chris does, I too use Fotki and recommend it highly. Also a great place to store reference photos (for current and future projects) rather than bogging down your PC/Mac.

Jim, Thank You for the offer, hopefully the 10,000 MB will last a long time, but If not I will let everyone know. Yes, J.C. I had several offers to help, all very much appreciated. But the first person, from England I think, paid the whole deal up front. His comments about our Board really hit home with me, He felt it was the least he could do for the amount of Joy and Sharing that Our Board constantly gives Him and All of our members. I am on several other sites, heck even own another but I have to say we are the most cohesive and genuine Model Builders in the World! Period, no one else can make that claim and we should all be very Proud of what we Share. Everyone should invite their friends and fellow model builders of all types to come join us and get comfortable. Chris

Chris, If a 2nd or more donations are needed, just post where and how I can help.
Honestly, I'm a little confused as to how we should post pictures of our builds moving forward. Personally, I use ImageShack that costs me $48/year for their basic package, which works just perfectly for me. I post using their direct link for each picture that I copy from my post as it auto appears in the picture tab. Then the picture appears in my post when I click on Insert Image. Is the only thing that actually gets posted to the site is my post and links?

Joel, First scrap ImageShack and use Fotki, why? well Unlimited ( yes unlimited I have 200+ albums with a ton of MB on there saving so much space, when my PC died a few years back I lost some 40,000 reference pics that I hadnt downloaded, now I have much more on Fotki. There was a batch of stuff that I couldnt get back and just that fact makes me remember to backup my stuff... storage is $34.99 on Fotki so save enough to get a couple cans of paint, next the process is quite easy and almost fool proof which would relate to me not you of course. I am faar from a Computer whiz, being self taught back in the 90's and eventually installing and maintaining a POS system for 500+ stores for the company I worked for. I dont understand a lot of stuff but the Fotki "Share button " is great and easy.. Just Saying.. Chris

I agree with the sentiment, this board offers a lot, and I appreciate the helpful nature of the members.
