1/43 Starter kit. OOB. I made replacement decals and substituted a better Autolite decal.
Paint is MCW Rangoon Red. That color is strait from the Curator himself at the Henry Ford, for this car. Clear is Testors High Gloss Clear Lacquer. Last Time I'll ever use it.
Just love the looks.
Here are the team cars from Shelby American. Hoolman Moody ran Cars 3 & 4.

Another great build! Did you fabricate new headlight covers? If not, how did you get the cloudy resin inserts that Starter provides to look so clear?

Another great build! Did you fabricate new headlight covers? If not, how did you get the cloudy resin inserts that Starter provides to look so clear? They are the kit parts. I use Tamiya Polishing compound buffed with a Proxxon Motor tool on the lowest power setting and use cotton buffing wheel impregnated with the polishing compound. I have a polishing wheel for each of the 3 compounds plus another for finish polish- either Wax or Novus no.1 It's not for the faint of heart and requires a light touch and lots of practice. The results speak for themselves.
BTW, many have used Future floor polish in the past to help clear parts and use as a clear coat. I humbly suggest not to. It does yellow over time. Might take 25-30 years, but it does. I have seen some in a museum even turn brown thanks to Florescent lighting. The polymer breaks down causing the discoloration.
