OK I got charged $73.50 again yesterday by ProBoards , I had thought that amount was 100mb for 100MB a year Storage for all the attachments? Well I found out its per month...... So If you can't attach pics at this time I get it and I am working on it.. The header says $73.50 or $3.00 per month but in fact its $73.50 per MONTH! I will find a little more cost effective way but it may take a day or two. so bear with me!! Chris

Chris I'm a little confused on this issue of storage space. Is the issue that pictures which are posted by "Added Attachment" are then stored on the Proboard site, and are using up the allotted storage space? But any pictures that have a direct link from a 3rd party hosting service has no bearing on this problem, as it's only the direct link to that picture? So the link takes no more space then typing a sentence of equal length?

Yes Joel, I think I am going to temporarily remove the "Add Attachment" option from posts and that would the require all Photos be posted via a "Photo Sharing Sire" like Fotki, Photobucket or similar. It is the only way without forking out big bucks to Proboards each month to use their storage. This ONLY effects "Attachments" and not direct links . More to come as I look through Proboards help site for an alternative. Yeah its a bit more work but ..... Chris

Okay, just to make sure. I post my photos on here from Flickr. Is that, in any way, part of the problem?

Most of the forums I participate in don't allow uploading attachments. I think having everyone post from their own service, like Fotki or Imgur, might be the best way to keep costs down and encourage membership. Most of us modelers are cheap so and so's. I'd be happy to kick in to support the site, though.

The Board will accept any Photo sharing pics, So No Worries Guys, I have already turned off the "Add Attachment " Feature and all photos must be Added with the Insert Photo button in the tool bar as before. No costs at this time although I really appreciate everyone who has offered, We have great bunch of Modelers here and I want to keep it that way. Thanks Again Guys...Chris

Chris, Like Ben said, I too belong to another site and they only allow direct Links. It's the only realistic way to control both space and cost. There's both free 3rd party hosting sites, and pay ones like Image Shack that I use and love. This should solve your allotted storage space issues.

Problem Solved !! Ask if you are unsure about how to post photos... Chris Chris, I'm asking so I don't waste Storage space. I've always posted my pictures via 3rd party hosting with Image Shack. Is that method still one of the correct ways? Joel

Problem Solved !! Ask if you are unsure about how to post photos... Chris Ok, I'm asking. I use Flickr. I click on the third box above that says Insert image. I delete the https:// and paste in the page of my photo... then I click insert image. Nothing happens! What am I not doing?

pnance26, Yes, that's the correct tab to click, then delete the HTTP. The issue most likely is what you're trying to paste isn't correct. Please past it in a reply and the link to the picture you're trying to post. Hopefully, Flickr will let me see all the options for that picture as I use Image Shack for 3rd party hosting.

Try right click on image, click "copy image location" then paste to the insert image on the toolbar here. It works for me. (so far)
