Bill, Some how I missed your health post. And I'm right there with you. Our health is way more important then modeling. Just focus on turning the corner and getting back to being healthily to enjoy life.

Bill, Glad that the drop didn't do any damage. Sure would love to see some pictures, as it sure sounds like you nailed the paint job.

Did something today I've never done since I started modeling..... .clear coated a model, first ever! it took my breath away at first, my lighting isn't the greatest but it got me by. Now on to the body looking for faults Bill, Congrats on taking that step. What did you use as for the clear coating? Joel

Bill, A few years ago I bought a bottle of the Zero Lacquer Gloss Clear, and totally forgot about it till a few weeks ago. No evaporation that I can see, so with your thumbs up, I'll be trying it out. The only problem is that I have to import any Zero products from Spot Models of Spain, as the one authorized dealer in New Hampshire has the worst in stocks I've ever seen. Zero OOS can easily go for a year or more.

Bill, That's great to hear. I've found that nothing beats a gloss lacquer clear coat with the exception of 2K, which I'm still leery of even trying. Joel

Bill, The pleasure was all mine. Like we've discussed so many times the internet, especially hobby sites of all types are really more visual then written words. Only the builder or should I say creator really can follow detailed written explanations of what work is done, what the details now look like, and what the overall build looks like as well. Your posted pictures do more then an entire highly detailed book would do for guys like me that just can't visualize all that well.
Now I'm determined to get you setup on a FREE 3rd party hosting site. Since you're not going to be posting a ton of pictures and chewing up your allotted bandwidth, even the New Photobucket might work. I'm sure that you'll take to it just fine. For a guy that claimed he couldn't take pictures very well, your pictures are really quite amazing, well focused, excellent depth of field, and properly exposed.
As for the Cruse build, I've told you from day one that it's a special build. Your skills are just top notch, and your knowledge of the subject matter is amazing. Next thing I know, you'll be emailing me that you had Sunday dinner with Jack Roush.

Bill, In defense of Beemax, their models are more like detailed curbside kits that offer the builder way more then the traditional Hasegawa curbside kits, which is just body and cockpit, nothing more. You can turn the Cruze model over and the bottom details are there. They just don't give you the full Monty like the old Tamiya kits did. Personally, I truly love the Beemax kits, and just keep on buying them.
I also noticed that you painted with a brush the Molotov paint straight from the refill bottle. And I didn't even know that the pens were refillable. The one thing that has always scared me about the Molotov pens, is that everyone says it takes weeks or even months for the paint to dry, if at all. Just seems kind of odd in today's era to have to deal with those issues.

There is a company that is making a complete resin engine insert for a bunch of Beemax models , unfortunately not for the Cruse though. Its called Ukraine Scale Model Production, based in the Ukraine, can be ordered direct but maybe best if purchased from Spot, since the mail system over in the Ukraine isnt winning any awards... nor ever has. This insert is for the BMW 2002 tII that Beemax released recently, it looks great and I am sure after some paint detail and misc would look real nice. Cutting the hood open might be a bit scary for some but it is easily done. Spot Model has a great line up of detail parts, I purchased a 911 GT1 detail set and got it in less than a week from them in Madrid Spain and shipping was only a few bucks.. Just an option for those who want something of an engine in their Beemax kit.. Chris

Chris, I saw them in the Spot Newsletter, and am really looking forward to trying them. Details look fantastic. All my orders from Spot take about a week, and my Gravity paint orders, just 3 days.
