It is a sad day as A. Hubert was involved in a shunt during the second lap of the F-2 race at Spa earlier today. He died from his injuries after the race was Red Flagged then Canceled. It had been 5 years since a fatality at a FIA event , that being Jules Bianchi at the 2014 Japanese GP. Hubert was a member of the Renault F-1 academy, the program that trains driver for F-1. He won the F-4 and F-3 Championships in recent years and was a potential F-1 Superstar. Our condolences go out to his family, friends and fellow competitors. Chris

Yes, very sad day. Motor racing is a dangerous business.
When I was 20, my parents just about went crazy when they found out I was racing a motorcycle. There was an article by a journalist named Jaques Ickx (yes, father of Jacky Ickx). I gave it to them to read.
It was entitled
"Free men are free to risk their lives".
RIP Anthoine

Didn't realize that I forgot to post my sincerest condolences to his family and his friends. Many of the F1 drivers personally knew him, and only had positive things to say about him. I saw the video on YouTube and it's not a pretty sight.
