Historic Racing Miniatures is working on a Mk I kit. It will be a full detail with a complete chassis and engine. Not sure when it will be released but from what I have seen of it I can't wait!

Hey Chris, Could you re-post or re-link those 1st 2 pics from your lead post in this thread?
Oh, and did you ever go back to Laughlin and take those pics of the car in the museum?

If anyone is going to NNL-East I think HRM is bringing the Scarab MkI. Stop by his booth and check it out.

I have a Scarab kit I bought in 1959, built as a sports special with chrome Vette wheels (I was in love with Devin cars at the time!) and not have modded back to a Scarab, albeit with engine, part frame, etc. Not finished yet; I still have the complete original decals sheet -- hope it still works! I love the Halibrand rims; wonder if anyone is resin casting that exact wheel set (f & r) that I could purchase? If I were a good caster, I'd pop out some sets myself. Ideas?? I'm 72, modeling since 1955 (or previous with airplanes) and mostly am restoring -- or finishing -- my original models. Nice styrene; like carving old ivory! :-<) Wick

Check with Historic Racing Miniatures , Harold has a few older style Halibrands that may work also there are several Decal services that will copy and restore your original sheet, or you can clear them with a Lacquer Clean in light coats to insure they will not fall apart when used...Chris
