Well, as I was just starting my Trumpeter kit to build that very car, I may have to re-think my plans! Hopefully, price will be reasonable?

i have never purchased a Meng brand model. i hope they make great quality kits. great timing to release this model now with Ford vs Ferrari movie opening tomorrow. a seller on e-bay has many decal versions of the 66 ford gt at Le Mans. wouldn't mind building a couple versions

Are we sure this isn't a re-issue of the Trumpy kit?

Armor builders love them. Their 1/24 automotive kits look good in the box, but I've never built one. Mike

I've never built a 1/12 scale kit. But I've just gotta build this one for sure. I'm hoping for as much molded detail as possible for what will surely be a kit around the $200 mark.

I was going to order a Fujimi GT40 but now I'm going to hold off and see how much $$ they want for this one. I'd much rather have a 1/12th of a car if I can get it - and afford it!
Interesting its the #1 car they issued and not the McLaren/Amon car "winner".

Trumpeter did the "winner". I guess they wanted to appeal to Miles/Hulme fans!

No matter what, it's on my must have and to do list. Betcha it's cheaper then the Trumpy kit is going for on ebay.

I was able to see a close up of the box that blue blotch in the upper right corner says "Limited pre-colored edition" so some are thinking this is a Pre-Painted version, for the film of course.. also there is some rumbling out there that this is a "Snap" type kit. maybe a hybrid snap?? We shall see.. as usual they are late getting this kit out for Christmas sales.. Chris

Chris, I just can't see the point that a company such as Meng, whose total focus has been towards the enthusiast modeler would actually go with a pre-colored edition. We've all seen the common place swirl marks that injected molded plastic is famous for which would ruin any advantage to a pre-molded color. Add to that if the kit is well detailed, and in 1/12 scale it should be, the market for a snap type anything kit isn't geared towards us, and the cost could be a negative point for Grandma and Grandpa to buy it for their Grandson.
On the other hand, Meng most likely doesn't do much if any of the design or molding process, just sells it's name to be placed on a kit. So we're just going to have to wait and see.

Here is what the box shows some think that means Pre-Painted I think it means different colors of plastic used for molding... Like Joel says, " We will have to wait and see" Chris
