Bernard, I don't get down to the straight-line build forums often enough, but reading through your journey I'm just super impressed with your build. Joel

Bernard, I don't get down to the straight-line build forums often enough, but reading through your journey I'm just super impressed with your build. Joel Thank you Joel. It's much appreciated. This approach to modeling is a whole lot different to the replica modeling discipline which forms the basis for so much of what is shared here on Motorsports Modeling. I have never been a replica modeler because my formation was entirely in modeling automobiles. I never got into military modeling or airplanes or even railroads. So I was surrounded by kitbashers and customizers, and even though I had (and still have) an unabiding interest in motorsports, and really more on the Endurance Racing and Formula side of things than straightline or circle track disciplines, as a 'basher/customizer/scratch-builder I build models "in the manner of" rather than replicas. So I tend to want to capture the "look and feel" of a type of car, rather than building a specific kit of a specific car. But since joining Motorpsorts Modeling I've gradually introduced Sportscar subjects into my mix, and, while the two Porsches I built last year are definitely in the "look and feel" department, the Chaparral 2E I started last week can only be built one way. Seen through to its conclusion it must be a replica. We'll see how it goes...
