Hello all, my name is Adrian and I just wanted to say hello and that in all the years of modeling I have done, it had never occurred to me to join anything like this, so it is my first forum. If I make any mistakes posting in the beginning please feel free to bring it to my attention - I am eager to learn the Forum etiquette. I am a proud Canadian living in Toronto Ontario. I have been building model race cars since the time I could pick up an exacto knife. I feel as though I come by it honestly because my father was a model builder among many other things - carpenter, engineer, architect, artisan, he built several now famous Logging Dioramas that still to this day live in the Adirondack Museum. I have built model aircraft as well while working as a volunteer at the Toronto Aerospace Museum in Downsview Ontario. I love to add scratch built elements to nearly all my models, and I'm constantly experimenting with new ways of achieving different results. I do believe it was a wall I came up against on the current model I'm building that gave me the idea to join this forum to see if anyone here has any opinions on my issue. I look forward to chatting with like-minded builders and people as passionate as I am about the hobby! Adrian

Another Canadian on the scene! I've only been here a little while myself, Adrian, but the guys here are friendly and knowledgeable...and very helpful! Don't hesitate to ask any questions and please post some of your builds...completed or not, there are always people interested in the final product and how it got there! Posting pics is very simple but again, if you need it, someone will be more than happy to help! Welcome aboard, sir!

Adrian, Welcome to our little corner of the auto modeling world. Sorry that I missed your intro post, but I've already seen your build post and commented on it. You sir are one very talented builder for sure. Your Nascar Stocker has to be one of the finest builds I ever recall seeing.

Adrian, Welcome to our little corner of the auto modeling world. Sorry that I missed your intro post, but I've already seen your build post and commented on it. You sir are one very talented builder for sure. Your Nascar Stocker has to be one of the finest builds I ever recall seeing. Joel Hey Joel,
Well thank you so much for those kind words sir - I really get engrossed in my builds, sometimes to the point where its about all my mind thinks about on 24hr basis when I am working on a build. How my marriage has survived certain builds I am not sure lol But on a very serious level I am very tough on myself when I build - incredibly so, and I get so engrossed in a build that by the time I'm done I no longer know how bad or good it truly turned out! So that's why I came onto this forum was for some feedback from some talented modelers like yourself. The crazy thing about the Napa Camaro is that it sat for awhile as my wife and I moved, and then I picked it up again after having started another Nascar build (The #1 Monster Energy 2019 Camaro) which I though would be my focus because I never thought I would find a 2019 Camaro Resin body - so I was so excited to dive in to it - but then I looked at the Napa car again and saw that it had some potential after not having been engrossed in the build for awhile.
It usually takes about 6 months after a build before I can really look at it and decide whether I think it is impressive or not - that's just me - I'm that critical of my own work Joel.
It means so much to hear you speak of the build as you did and you've inspired me to keep steady on the Car I'm working on currently. It is Joey Logano's 2019 Ford Mustang #22 (Yellow Version). I'm excited about this guy because of all the things I learned from the Napa build which I can improve on
Cheers my friend,
Adrian

Adrian, While you need a good 6 months before to evaluate a build, I'm the exact opposite, as the longer I wait, the more I forget about the struggles I had, and the little accomplishments that no one but me will ever see.
I'm a huge, and I mean huge Roger Penske fan. I 1st met him in 1967 at Bridgehampton for the USRRC race, as I was helping out on a pit crew for a local driver. These days he owns a championship caliber team in just about every top tier of motor sports including Nascar, and Logano drives under his banner. So naturally, I'm a Logano fan. Looking forward to your build. So please post it in blog form his, as there's plenty of interest for top quality work here.

I too am a Big Roger fan for sure, the amount of agony and Thrill this man has seen through his time in Motorsport is immense and likely unmatched. I think one of my favourite Roger moments is when Emerson crossed the Bricks in 89' ... driving Roger's 'Lolita' which he himself named because in his own words he said it was the best race car he's ever driven.
As for struggles that we overcome as builders that no-one other than ourselves will ever know of or see? well that's one of the most frustrating parts of this hobby ain't it?
