The question is, have any of you guys ever tried to build one? The M25 was a one-off factory McLaren built to order for the F5000 series but it never got to really race. It was impounded by Canada Customs in a legal dispute and by the time it was resolved, the car was basically obsolete. Or, so the story goes, best as I can figure out. Lots of mystery in the history. But as it was, cosmetically at least, an M23 with a Chevy stuffed in the back, it shouldn't be that hard to build one. Since I have an M23 lying in the scrap bin, I think I might experiment. This is the actual, restored car, but I'm pretty sure its not "as original", although its a very nice job:
Any ideas, pics, info, suggestions would be appreciated.

I made this M25-F5000 7 years ago. I based it on an AMT M16 and modified cockpit surround. My skimpy sources were: I am also interested in the M23 modified to accept a 5-liter Leyland engine. Decals do exist to make this car and I have a Mauri M23 kit and a Leyland-like Buick nailhead. Good luck on your project. Patrick

This will be a great project. I grew up watching these race at Sandown, beasts of cars and sounded so good.

I've never built one of these before....let alone any open wheel style car. You guys are tipping me over the edge to give one a try though. Will be watching this build.

Patrick, I thought about using the indycar as well, here's a real one that's pretty similar:
I don't know if that thing was ever raced or not but it's pretty cool!
