Here’s the other part of the Traco remote oil filter adapter, along with the oil filter. I made the Fram HP1 decal which was what was run on this car. I bashed an oil cooler from an AMT Grant King sprint car kit, relocating the bungs.

Here are the seats prior to installation. Studying the reference pictures revealed that the car had a passenger seat out of a ’63 Corvette. I grabbed one out of an old Snap Kit I had and added the chrome trim. The belts were a pleasant surprise on the driver’s seat. I had purchased a real nice 1/32 lever style photo etch kit that had much more detail than the typical Detail Master set and was really excited to use it. Unfortunately, the PE gods had other ideas and launched some of the important bits into orbit never to be seen again. But I remembered I had purchased a set of two belts at a show a few weeks earlier and hadn’t thought much about them, but when I opened them up, they were about the best I have seen. Two sets for $3 was a lot better than the $20 it took to get the original set! In this reference shot, unlike most L-88’s, this car had an air filter. I got one out of another kit and removed the filter hat and made it look like a Fram filter. There was no ridge detail on the inside, so I made a decal of some mesh and applied it to the inside. It's not yet on in this shot. Thanks for looking!

Art, that IS a nice-looking buckle! No shoulder harness? This is one of the most well-researched and well-executed models I have ever seen! I'm cuurently attempting a 1:1 re-creation of a 1972-vintage dirt modified and I'm working from ONE picture! I have actually mocked it up in 1/25 plastic to help "reverse-engineer" or maybe "imagineer" (sorry, Disney!)some things that weren't clear. I wish I had more references but that's the way it goes! You were very fortunate to locate the contacts and info you did. I'm a little jealous!

Brian, Thanks for the kind comments. The harnesses are attached to the roll bar and have some nice detail as well. I'll get some pics up of the interior today.
I'm looking forward to seeing your dirt modified. Let me know where you post it, if you do.
I agree, I was lucky to get what I got as far as reference material, and the research has been very much a part of the fun. When I started I had only a few pics and there were a lot of unknowns, and the additional pics really helped. There were still a few gray areas, but that left some room for artistic license to add some items that add interest and a little color.

That Aeroseal clamp on the water hose! I can see the slots in the strap itself! Quit blowing me away. Simply outstanding!
