Thanks Joel, I'm happy with the stance still need to do some reshaping of the wheel openings. The 1:1 had a hinged rear clip. Decided I would deviate slightly and make it lift off with locking pins.

I'm loving watching this pugnacious little supercharged doorstop come together, Mr. Reckner. Glued to the thread.

JC, I gather that most of those cars from back in that era had hinged rear clips. But your method works well, and will be a big plus for the finished build for sure.

I like the lift off, you'll get a better fit that way.

Thank you for the comments and interest in the builds. Added flanges the trailing edge of the body for alignment. Both rear body sections hung.

Good heavens, sir, but you're teaching me how to think.

JC, Those flanges will really make alignment so much easier to maintain.

Since I am building now both versions, I have moved the thread under the Endurance category.

JC, Very nicely done, as that new short nose front clip looks dead on. So now you're building 3 versions, or just two with interchangeable front clips? If so that should make for a very interesting display.

Haven't settled yet on which version of the long-tail to build Joel so I have options now. Kit provides no roll cage so I fabricated the hoop and the kickers. Might not bother with the forward half as it is very difficult to see on the 1:1. The back facing kickers pass through the rear window so I have to deal with that yet! The kit intends the glass to fit perfectly with the only gluing surface the very edge of the glass - yea right! I added a flange along the header (bonding surface and support) and material inside the A pillars to improve the fit.

JC, the roll bar cage really is coming out nicely. Good thinking about the side supports for the glass. Without them, I'm sure you'd be spending a ton of time replacing them as they pop out while handing the shell.

These photos appear to show no forward half of a roll cage only a roll hoop and kickers behind the driver. This photo shows no visible roll cage at this stage of the cars development. There does appear to be some reinforcement in the greenhouse structure.
