Looking great, Ismael! I somehow fell behind on this thread. I’ll try to keep up! Ben

Ismael, Sure blame me for your inability to build OOB. I do it all the time. Well, maybe just a little enhancing to spice things up.
Shifting a pre-select box sounds pretty straight forward but waiting till the apex of a turn to engage the gear is kind of a little late as one is already usually adding throttle by the apex. I brake at my turn in point push the clutch in and shift before the apex, really all depends on the corner you're driving through.
As far as duplicating that pre-shift, nice 1st effort, but the pictures have it a flat piece not bent. I'd also wonder why you went with clear plastic as it's the most brittle and hardest to work with.

Hi Joel,
The piece is actually bent. It starts in front of the shifter rod and ends behind it. You can see it in the video of the car in the garage. I used the clear styrene because it is a bit thicker than the regular one. Still tweaking it so not fully there yet.
Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, I stand corrected, and I should have known better then to think you made such a rookie mistake.

Hello, I may be biased, but I have the feeling that my shifter is becoming a slight improvement over the kit's part. Don't you think? Much bigger than actual size. Some little teaks left but almost there. Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, After seeing the real deal several times in those videos, the kit's unit doesn't look anything like it, but your's sure does. It wouldn't surprise me if you ended up putting the marking for gear gear position on the top side bar.

I'm impressed Ismael. Somehow you have resisted the temptation to put a Corvette engine in it.

Ismael, I just took a lucky guess. But for the record it came out looking darn near perfect.

Thanks Joel! Those are the smallest numbers I could find after swimming for days into old boxes of leftover decals from cars and aircraft. They are a hint big but still work.
Thanks, Ismael

Hello, Sorry I've not been as active in the forum as I'd like. Very busy. After weeks I can finally say I had some progress in the dash. The steering wheel is from the kit. Everything else is not. Looks like pulled out of a junkyard The gauges are my own, printed at home as both the kit's and the AM decals are incorrect (white faces with black numbers). Cutting them was a royal PITA. Wire bezels. Wire switches. Thanks, Ismael

Ismael, The instrument panel and column shifter look darn good to me. Should look even better once installed in the pit.
