Tires and brakes done granted you cant even see the rotors behind the rim which is probably why they didnt bother to mold calipers for this kit. Don't know if I'm going to put the wheel covers on the front or not, was never a huge fan of the look. Got all the decals on and ready for some clear coat soon then it is back to the chassis work.
Also gotta ask if anyone has tips for airbrushing white? I had one hell of a time getting equal coverage. I almost wonder if maybe painting it flat white like XF-2 would've been easier since im doing gloss clear over it anyway?

Looking good! To your question on white: white primer and lacquer paint. Not sure what you are using but a flat white base should help under the gloss white. That's exactly why I use white primer. Enamels are thicker and are prone to yellowing over time. I have never been able to consistently airbrush gloss acrylics. Your mileage may vary Thanks, Ismael

That's looking great! Very nice job on the wheels and decals!
My mileage for painting white is exactly the same as Ismael's. I use a white primer for coverage and then I'll spray a gloss white lacquer over it. Gloss white doesn't cover well at all. I gave up on enamels a long time ago, because gloss colors take forever to dry, even when thinned with lacquer thinner. Me and most acrylics do not have a very healthy relationship. I do like Tamiya and Gunze acrylics and use them on some assemblies.

Never had an issue using Tamiya White rattle can over the top of Tamiya White (or even grey) primer. Just didn't seem to be an issue!

sylphide. Those wheels, tires, and brakes are exceptional. No question about it. Of course the body with the decals applied is certainly at the same level.
As for white, I do use my own mix of primer, which is a very light shade of Tamiya gray added to Tamiya white just so I can see how the lacquer mat white is laying down. I've always struggled with White over White till I applied the Super clear gloss.

Got this guy all done. Left out the front wheel fins/covers as in general I never liked them plus they don't look very accurate either. I need to try and do a better job leveling decals. I put on some pretty heavy clear coats and sanded them down and went back over with a final coat but the borders are still very noticeable. I assumed its because indycals decals are pretty thick and requires alot of clear to properly level, or I can't tell when I've actually leveled it . Really happy with the double diveplanes though, makes the car look really aggressive. I just hope they stay on as there is hardly any glue holding them .

sylphide That's one very impressive build. I looked closely at our pictures and the decals look perfect to me. I think that we all get a little to hung up on decal edges since the real car these days use stickers for a lot of their decals and those edges are really quite thick, as well as a full body wrap for those complex paint jobs.
