This months Banner photo, Vic Elford driving the Iconic 908 Porsche at the Nurburgring, was sent in by "clowncar" (sorry dont know your actual name) You can send me photos in a message that you would like to see as the Monthly Banner and all submissions will be considered for use used. All submissions are greatly appreciated, if not used right away I save them all for later use. I have now about 20,000 photos and a bunch more in my Fotki albums so we aren't hurting but so many of us have a favorite, like this months so send them in and we will see what we can do. Thank's Chris

Ford RS200, appears to be from the 1991 IMSA race at Mid-Ohio? A rallye car converted to a road racer. I know of one other converted rallye car that raced in IMSA. A Fiat 131 Abarth, driven by James Brolin in a couple of IMSA GTU races. This picture is from Racing Sports Cars website taken at Laguna Seca, however I also saw it race at Hallett and actually met James Brolin in the Porta-John line. Fiat 131 Abarth

Jim., I am pretty sure this car was initially run as shown in 1986, from the lack of paint (in primer) and the number 86 on it, I think this was its maiden run. I went to the British-Italian car show at Woodley Park in Sepulveda Dam area every year and one year there was a street version of the RS200 sitting in the parking lot. If I can find the pics I will post them.. it was truly a site to see, sitting down low and pretty. A Amazing car. Its too bad the wheel base was so short for Road Racing and other classes than Rally. Quite a car though. Chris

Its too bad no one did a body, even a stock body to convert to a IMSA GTO version or similar! Chris ( click for large image)

Chris, when did that car race with a number 2? I have the Gilles model but the choice was 11 or 12. Was it used the following year for a few starts? That is the 312T4 isn't it? Or is that the T5?

Yep, Scheckter was defending champ and had #1, Gilles was #2. Unfortunately for both the T5 was a truck!
