This has been an on again off again build for a while. It's an Airfix kit, very good quality, great value for the money. Just some random WIP pics.

Paul, Wow! You're doing that old Airfix kit justice for sure. The engine looks fantastic.

Chris, this kit - this car - is a dream to work on. That supercharger is a Rootes type design made by Villers-Armstrong (I think I spelled that right) specifically for these cars, they also did the engine mods required and the race prep. Size wise the blower alone is bigger than a Cosworth DFV. This whole car is a beast!!

Nice work Paul. I have the Heller 1/24 scale kit so I am taking notes.

Update. Between my motor neuron damage worsening, computer woes and this wacky winter weather, progress is quite slow, and this kit does take some work.
The Fascia, aka Dashboard:
Decals are applied backwards, as in printed side down, on the rear face of the clear panels, which go on the back of the fascia showing through the holes. Slick idea, easy to do and looks great.
Chassis starting to be assembled. Suspension and steering done. Just too much green, so I painted the wheels silver.
I'm converting this car to hydraulic brakes, most of them were.
I re-tasked the kit parts to create a two seat touring car with a tonneau - just a different look.
The rad in place, some detailing done.
Cheers
Paul

Great build Paul! I've been gathering bits and building that kit in my head for many years. Maybe if I give my head a good smack I can actually get it on the bench. If I do I'll be back to your post to take notes.
