Thank you Chris. I'm with you on the era, anything after about 1985 I'm not really interested, be it F1 or Indy. I do wish somebody would make Indycar kits in 1/12th, I really don't like the 1/25th stuff, just can't do enough with it. It's the engineering that I'm into, how they did things back "whenever" and what were they thinking? And on this one, also the fact that I happen to love Offenhausers! Best race car motor ever built when you consider how long they were used.
Stay tuned, the next one will have a small block Ford. I just got the motor today from the guy in Texas and it's a beauty. Will start a thread on it later.
cheers mate

Paul, Just an amazing job on scratching out the turbo. The engine, transaxle, and suspension look as good as any molded ones I've seen. You work is just that good.

Just jumping into this forum over here but this is a killer idea and beautiful execution. I can totally see this rolling into the speedway in May of 75.

Covid is not fun.
I did make some progress, before the trucks started running over me. Using the Lotus 72 wing and oil tank, I reversed the mounting point, thereby moving the wing further forward. This car is long enough! Original on the right:
And mounted on the car:
Detailed the cockpit and instruments:
Plumbing all done:
I am now going to crawl back under my rock.

Paul, 1st and foremost is your health and recovery. So sad to hear that your case is worse than most. Just hang in there and get well asap.
Wow!! the mod on the wing really came out great. The cockpit and engine wiring adds more than enough detail to convince the viewer that it's a true and complete replica.

All done. Other than the tires have tread when they should be slicks (I'm working on that). Hereinafter referred to as "the covid car" .
It was fun, a refreshing change from "assembling a kit".
Now I have kits to assemble, lol.
cheers

Great job Paul! Hopefully the”Arcticwolf Covid Special” has a solid 182 or 183 mph in it and can get in the field. Looks legit to me. As a kit assembler myself I wouldn’t know how to go about doing something like this but I love your result. Looking forward to seeing the next kit assembly. 😂.

Paul, Just an outstanding build. I'd certainly classify it as scratch built, not a conversion as you did way too engineering for that. Hoping that your health is improving daily and Covid will be a distant memory sooner then later. joel
