After seeing this kit from time to time on the internet, I finally got my hands on an unbuilt one! Only pictures I have found are Camel advertisements, and that car appears to be a 935. With the decals appearing to be in great shape, and the fact the kit is so simplistic, I plan on building a box art car. May add some detail to the interior, but we will have to see. Have not done any model building at all in the last year, just trying to get back in the swing of things and have pulled I don't know how many kits out to consider as starting points. After a lot of research - and still no pictures of an actual car with these markings - I did discover that this is basically the same kit Testor's reboxed in Vaillant livery. Overall the body looks good, and I am hopeful it will build into a cool looking car.

Hmmmm.....I always thought that kit was out of the same tooling as the Esci kit which AMT released in the 1990s. That 1st photo of the body tosses that thought out the window.

Here is my box art build of that kit, I bought it ran home and built it when it came out, I had seen the actual car at Riverside at the 6 hour IMSA race and was impressed. No it didnt run in any races that I knew of.. It is identical ( excluding decals ) to the Rarer Testors Valiant 934 kit which I also have in mint in box condition. I couldnt find any matching paint so I clear coated the plastic body and slapped the decals on ( which were quite nice also) and was so thrilled with my build.. It has been in my display cabinet ever since.. There was some shots of the car on the IMSA web site for a while but those are now history. The real car was indeed identical to the car in the ads..Chris

What I like is you built a car you saw and after all these years you build a replica of it. That feels good to me and I bet you.

Great looking build Chris! Thanks so much for sharing, that is the first one I have seen built. Good idea about clearing the plastic! I'm thinking of painting mine. Nothing wild, but not going to worry about getting an exact match. Thinking along the lines of a metallic brown, or even a very dark red/maroon.
