Historic Racing Miniatures offer a trans-kit to build the LeMan's hardtop. I will build the Shelby Team entry.
The chassis is from the AMT kit. The engine is HRM's FIA 289. I had to create new motor mounts and do some grinding on the foot boxes to squeeze this 1/24 scale engine in the 1/25 scale frame. But it does fit.

The race cars have no inner door panel. In order to replicate this look I cut away the door panel from the interior tub. I cut it off at the door pouch and then thin the top edge. This exposes the backside of the door.

Shot some primer on the body and did some block sanding to level everything off.
Yea I like Cobras.

Added a piece of strip styrene to the base of the windshield to simulate the rubber gasket.
Also added a mounting pin to the windshield. I drilled a corresponding hole in the body.

The trans-kit includes a very nice set of Dunlop racing wheels and tires.

Here I have applied some white primer on the body and completed the interior. Notice also how much shorter the trunk lid is. Although not clearly apparent in the these photos the hinging of the trunk is reversed compared to the standard Cobra.

Wow! Love this thing! Is it just me, or can you hear the burble of the exhaust?
