Thank you very much gentlemen. The Escort was a rewarding journey even before the award.

I've been seeing this Escort on several forums over the last couple of years and I have to say you have set the benchmark for all future Escort builds. It's a fantastic little model and one you definitely deserve that award for such awesome work. Congratulations.

It's a fantastic little model and one you definitely deserve that award for such awesome work. Congratulations. Thank you Shawn, it was my most involved build to date. I literally modified ever piece. I want to build a Tarmac Special as my next Escort project. I may not take it to the same level as this build but who knows once I get started.

JC, Just like Ismael, I missed your build thread as it supersedes my time on the list. So I read the last 3 pages, and have now started reading through your epic build. Simply amazing detailing and fabrication.
Congratulations on your win. May there be many more in your modeling future.

Thanks Joel. As you go through the thread all the white plastic bits in the photos, with the exception of the helmets and headphones are scratch built. It was a great experience building this.

Mr. Reckner, you’ve stupefied me. I dove into this thread when it floated to the top, and when I saw the sheer elegance of your hood-fit solution in the second post, quoted below, I sensed I was about to witness a few pages of thoughtful, considered acts of mastery. We need to fix some fit issues at the hood.
Having read the whole thing, I assert that I was correct in my assessment. Prize well-deserved. And you’ve inspired me. There’s no WAY, after seeing this thread, that I can’t contemplate finishing a simple 1/24th cottage-industry resin curbside. Because you’ve gone and re-engineered a mainstream injection-molded kit while making it look “as easy as kiss my hand.” Thank you, Sir.

Clowncar, I've always been under the impression that one of the keys for someone being a true expert and/or having a expertise at something that others find hard to difficult, to just plain impossible, is to make it look easy and simple enough that the average person is fooled into believing that can do it as well.
JC, along with an elite group of builders on this list certainly qualify for that status.

I appreciate your comments gentlemen sincerely as I do the award. I build for the pure joy of it but it's always nice when others appreciate the effort. Thank you!

JC...it is GREAT to see this build come to the excellent finish that you provided us viewers with. The AWARD is well deserved my friend. One question though....which guy are you in the picture?

JC, You put on a master class on scratch building. Bravo. I miss this the first time and found it yesterday. Went through each post. Just a fantastic build and your level of detail is spot on. Thanks for sharing your technique’s. Love it!
