The body looks like a very clean and crisp casting. Nice work lining up all those hoses.

Thanks Rob. HRM is one of the best resin caster in the business. Most of the race cars had side vents of varying design. Yea that's right the idea of the side vent for the Cobra also came from the Ace. The vents are resin copies of the pieces from the Sunny/Academy 427 Cobra kit.

Haven't worked on it in awhile Frank. Trying to figure out a way to make a nice grille.

Those vertical rods are gonna be a bear. It looks like they are only ~1/4" on the 1:1's. Then there is the Flat Stock with "eared hole" for the Manual Crank Starter.

Maybe trace the grill opening, make a wooden mock (buck) of that tracing, and form the grill surround from that thin Plasti-struc with some judicious use of heat? Do the horizontal bars into the surround, and do the verticals behind those horizontal bars? Your mock would be reversed (a hole shaped like the grill opening in the wood), and the grill would be formed inside of that mock. Pretty long two cents, huh? --Frank

A friend made a beautiful brass master of the grille which HRM was able to resin cast, so this project should be back on the workbench soon!

Settled on the '61 Le Man class winner BEX1110 as the car I wish to build.

For those that may care: AC Cars chassis number legend: - AE – AC engine
- BE – Bristol engine
- RS – Ford engine
- X – Export (left hand drive)
- CS – Carroll Shelby
Therefore the car I am building BEX1110, would be Bristol powered, left hand drive, chassis number 1110.

I have seen the possibilities of working with the AMT Cobra body. Your AC Bristol is brilliant! I went from Cobra to Ferrari 225S... Patrick

I remember your build Patrick-very nice. Having studied Cobras, although not perfect IMHO the AMT kit is very faithful to the original and offers a significant amount of build possibilities.
