I'll buy. Talk about three box styling. What series did these race in?

My neighbor would appreciate this. He's a Volvo mechanic and has an older 240 that he fixed up and hotrodded a bit for his daily driver. They were also used to good effect in the BTCC and some other touring car championships. It seems someone like Hasegawa or Tamiya did a couple kits of the BTCC cars. They may look boxy and stodgy, but like plenty other boxy cars like BMWs, they performed quite well.

The kit will be packaged as the 1985 Guia Race of Macau (Beemax is based in Macau) Kamachi liveried machines. Reji Model has already teased they plan to do the ETCC Nordica livery once the kit is released. With all the "vintage" touring cars being done - between this kit, and the reissue of the Jaguar XJ-S (and all of those liveries), Tamiya should really think about doing another reissue of the 635CSi and the Sierra RS500.

Some digging around and that bottom livery is the 1985 InterTec Fuji Race Winning Eggenberger Motorsports entry.

Not crazy about the liveries but the aftermarket will take care of that.

Not crazy about the liveries but the aftermarket will take care of that. No doubt about that. From a contiguous point of view, with the JPS livery for the XJ-S you can build back to back winning cars for Macau - the Jags won in 1984. I also have a substantial decal hoard from Asia, particularly the Macau race and this is a 3rd different Kamachi car I can build now (the other two being M3s)

One of my favorite "most ignored" brands. There are a bunch of Volvo that I would love to have kits of. Any release date on these?

HobbyEasy (based in Hong Kong) is now showing an 11/07 release date for this kit and it's P/E set. If it actually drops on that date (and doesn't slide backwards at random) it would put it in Japanese vendors (via the Aoshima distribution) at the end of December or early January of 2018.

This kit was released right before Christmas along with the next Nissan 240RS Rally kit (1984 Safari Rally). Both kits have their own dedicated Detail Up sets. Next up new kit wise is the Toyota Corona '94 JTTC car, and probably after that (unless the Porsche 935 or Audi/Lancia Rally cars are closer) is a Rally version of the BMW M3. 10504848p by James Duff, on Flickr 10502225p by James Duff, on Flickr

I saw on another forum that the Volvo kit comes with tires that have the camber already built in giving them a weird cone shape.
