JC, Thanks, In the mid-80's I was building and remodeling stores for Pep Boys, with that went a lot of travel around the West Coast, I went to the local hobby shops and bought out the remainder of their Aurora AFX and T-Jet Parts Cars and Track at huge discounts I have about 200 vars, hundreds of pieces of track and parts to build probably 100 more cars.. I was a founding member of HOUROC this article is from the early 70's about the club.. I plan on building a fully detailed track in my office some time and have tons of Aurora Buildings, a Aurora digital lap counter, trees, bushes and even HO People ( Pit Crew too) Read the article if you can, Gary Beedle went on to invent the G-Jet BSRT. Jim Cauthon became a National HO Champion and more.. Santa Ana Raceways sponsored the club I would like to write a book about this suff some time.. Chris

The 312PB is the most beautiful prototype race car Ferrari ever produced IMHO, excellent choice Chris. Aurora/AFX produced a very nice HO scale slot car which I have in my collection. I think both Ferrari with the 312PB and Porsche with the 908/02 and 908/03 produced two of the most extraordinary pieces of endurance racing machinery in history. Say what you will about the 512 and the 917, but those two "pocket rockets" created when the FIA changes the rules, produced excellent results.

Ps. I do have the 312PB in My HO collection and recently converted the Porsche 510K to a 908/3 I still have to put on the decals made by C & R , my friend Bob makes them , he resizes 1/43 Kit decals to fit HO slot cars then silk screens them.. really nice stuff too.. Chris

The 312PB is the most beautiful prototype race car Ferrari ever produced IMHO, excellent choice Chris. I very much agree! The 312PB is one of my very favorite race cars, since I first started following racing in 1972-73. Great pic, Chris.
Two weeks ago I came across a resin 312PB kit on ebay. After consulting with a model club friend who is a big ebay seller, I put in a maximum bid of $150. I lost, and the winning bid was $152.50... .
A week later (last weekend), to my amazement, I found that same kit listed on ebay again. This time I was going to enter a higher max bid, and this time I would wait until the final seconds to put my max bid in. But I screwed myself because although I clicked the "Enter Bid" button with a few seconds to go, I forgot that it would ask me to "Confirm Bid", and that made my bid too late by just a few seconds, and the winning bid was less than the max bid I was trying to put in .... . All I can do is tell myself that I must not have been meant to have that model, for some reason. What else could I think?
Has anyone ever bought from TwoCats Modelos? www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.344275605912447.1073741867.220902991583043&type=3 He has a 1971 312PB resin kit in 1/24th, plus other desirable models including a 1974-75 Alfa Romeo 33 TT12 that looks nice. If you have ordered from him before, could you offer tips on the best way to order it? Several years ago Model Cars magazine showed this kit, and I tried sending an email to TwoCats asking how to order, but never got a reply.

Love the new pic. The 312PB is one of my favorites. So much so, that I bought the MFH kit.

2 whl, I'm really looking forward to your build of the MFH kit. I've still never wavered from injected molded kits except for a few resin & PE parts. So the more detailed your build, the better I'll like it. Joel

Pretty good looking for an "HO" slot car, JC. I thought it was a pretty good looking race car myself, though to me nowhere NEAR as pretty as the P4.

I have a ridiculously large slot car collection (+500 cars), maybe I will post some photos of it in the slot car section.

public.fotki.com/pmodwrks/1-ho-car-collection/ Here is a link to about 50 of my HO cars, most are highly modified or just rare.. There are quite a few that have Lexan bodies, I really like the Red Honda CRX body, I have about 200 more bodies from Dragsters to Group C, IMSA F-1, Indy even Sprint cars... Chris
