While visiting recently with my friend Mr. Bradford (HRM) he pulled this gem from his stash. Knowing my affection for Porsche he bestowed it upon me, yes it is good to have friends. Having had it for many years he doesn't recall the source. Only the body and wing are included. It's not a HRM claiber casting but I think I can do something with it. The wing provided is the wrong style. I replaced it with a correct RSR wing from Reji, filled the incorrect NACA ducts in the fenders , opened all the various cast closed slots and performed some overall cleanup. Looks like the Fujimi chassis might work with some minor adjustments.

A little bit more progress Joel. Continuing cleanup of the rear fenders and fitting of the whale tail wing. Fabricated a front wind screen from clear flat stock. Fit isn't great but haven't found a better alternative yet. Improved fitting of the chassis.

JC, from the position of the Naca ducts it looked like someone had the basis for the RS, with the rear side windows filled (panels ) it would look very close.. Great body..You know you are tempting me start on the 80 or so Porsche kits I have !! well sometime after I get the dozen of other projects finished I may just do that, just keep filling my head and the Board with excellent ideas and builds!! JC, the body is really coming together now. It always amazes me how skilled modelers of your caliber make all of this look so easy. Fortunately, at my age, I've finally figured out what my nitch level of builder I am. I'm more then satisfied to have gotten this far as it's been quite a journey. Joel

Chris PS. and put 5 grand in the bank! Chris, Too bad I missed the party. I have a feeling that you sold off plenty of kits I'd kill for. I even missed the Trumpeter 1/12 scale Ford GT40 MKII. Still, 350 kits is a huge stash. My remaining aircraft kits that I'm putting up for sale on a few sites I've been a member of for years, numbers all of 12 kits, and my car stash is 13, one more then my self imposed limit of 12. Over the years as my old stashes grew and grew, I rarely built any of those kits, but just continued to buy new ones that I built asap. I amassed way to much AM and decals, that just took up space on shelves. I still feel that the rare limited run kits or AM should be purchased when available, but that's the exception for me, not the rule. Turning 71 in two wks time, means that Father Time is no longer on my side. The old saying is that I'll build all these kits when I retire and have the time, doesn't really work either. That I know from 1st hand experience. My biggest regret by far is not building model cars over the long haul instead of aircraft, but that's a story for another time. Joel

Doesn't look like much but a whole lot of work was involved in rebuilding the windshield frame to fit the closest fitting glass I could find. Carved a channel to accept the back glass.

Thanks Joel. The dry break opening in the hood didn't match my reference so I filled them and drilled new ones. Removed the lip along the bottom of the front air dam as again didn't match my reference.

I'm not a big Porsche fan or follower, but I can appreciate the detail changes you're making, nice work. It's going to look pretty cool!

JC, Every update is a treat. I'm just super impressed how you keep on improving the windshield frame area. I also really like how those flared rear fenders look in the pictures.
