My entry into the group build will be a decades-old Wayne Hintz produced resin model of a generic Wisconsin-style Modified. He did four kits, two Miles "Mouse" Melius cars, a coupe and a sedan, plus two generic kits, a Corvair and this one, a Falcon. Basic instructions, some decent (for the time) resin parts, some sheet plastic, tubing, square rod and a piece of window screening. Tires are so-so castings of the MPC Super Stocker dirt tires, with wheel backs molded in, but extra wheel backs are included if you supply your own (better) tires. Body casting is nice, frame is simple but sturdy, looks like it should be a fun project. Really wanted to do something different (check), fairly simple (check), and out of my normal areas of expertise (CHECK)! I'm hereby asking for anyone familiar with these cars to PLEASE help me get the engine, suspension and cockpit details at least CLOSE to correct. Lots of pictures on the web of the exteriors so paint job and number styles are set. Thanks in advance for any and all help and guidance! Brian

I’m not familiar with these Midwest modifieds, but they sure seem to share the “engine on wheels” style with the east coast and southern modifieds. I can’t wait to see this one come together!

I've been around the Northeast Modifieds all my life, from the last few years of the "home-built" cars to the current cookie-cutter, factory built rockets. I am completely amazed at how SMALL the Mid-west cars are compared to the NE cars! Tiny little things. Going to be a fun build and a learning experience!

I agree, this looks to be a great project. I really like how the body is unmistakably based on an old Falcon.

Love Falcons. I have 2. One is a "1-Owner" car. Grandparents bought it new in 1960.

Neat! Even tho I love modifieds of all kinds, I'm sure glad all the compact cars didn't get cut up for race cars! Another former racer and I were discussing all the cars we cut up or robbed major parts from back in the 1970's & 1980's for racing. An impressive list, we'd both be comfortably retired if we had them all now to sell!

This is going to be very cool to watch...The modifieds are a class all into their own...
