Sprue Bros. has always been my go-to for airplane stuff. I've had good luck and good prices buying car kits directly from Japan and Hong Kong through eBay or even Amazon. BNA is great!

Sprue Bros. has always been my go-to for airplane stuff. I've had good luck and good prices buying car kits directly from Japan and Hong Kong through eBay or even Amazon. BNA is great! Ben Ben, For my time building Aircraft, Sprue Brothers and Scalehobbyist.com was my go to for literally everything plus ebay every once in a while. But now I have been looking for other resources besides Scalehobbyist.com for cars and AM supplies. Free Time Models is pretty good, but rather limited in selection that hardly changes month to month with few new kits. I've been on the Spot site since yesterday, and I'm just blown away. I've already got a small 3 model order including one preorder as a test. My go to paint guys are Gravity of Spain. Their service is fantastic, and shipping is a little more then I'm use to, but every order goes DHL Air and I have it in 3 days. I'm hoping that Spot uses a similar system. For quality service and selection I don't mind paying a little extra for it. Joel

I can't remember how Spot shipped my last order, but it arrived within a week. I'll keep looking to them, first, when I need something car-related.
I'm going to try Splash Paint the next time I need paint, since they'e in the US. Gravity USA has lost my business. I've never heard any negative reviews of Gravity Spain.

Ben, I've never used Splash paints, but if they're in the USA and they do road racing cars, I'll be checking them out. Joel

Making some progress! I just have to go down the other side of the body, and then I'll be finished. I'm still very impressed with these decals. The only hiccup was the TOTAL decals for the front and rear were missing the white background, so the one on the front has blue letters. I didn't realize this until after I had wetted the decal, and didn't have time to find my white decal film ( Where the heck did I put it?!?!) and cut a rectangle to go under it. Oh well. Using a coffee mug heater to keep the water hot has helped speed the process, but the decals still don't like to release from the backing paper. Ben

Got all of the decals on, except for two that will go on the windshield and back window, once they're installed. I'm very impressed with Racing Decals 43. I wish I had gone ahead and bought their set for the Liqui-Moly M6 GT3 on my Platz kit. Once everything is dry, I'll clean the decal goo off and hit it with another clear coat. Then it's back to scratchbuilding seat belt buckles. I am so glad they're not 1/48! Ben

Shane's 911 posts inspired me to make some time to move my build along. I still have to make some dive planes to go below the HTC decals, paint the brake lights, and do some more cleaning up on the headlight buckets before I add the clear parts there. They don't show up in this cell phone photo, but I made seat belts and hardware from painted medical tape, styrene, and bits of cut-up paper clip, with logo decals left over from an Indycals seat belt sheet. This has been a fun, simple kit, but I'm ready to move onto something else. Ben
