Hi guys,
These ones were finished last year. They are the three cars that were entered in the 1985 James Hardie 1000 at Bathurst, the #10 car was the race winner with John Goss and Armin Hahne. Hasegawa kit with Studio27, Pattos and the original kit decals and painted in Tamiya TS43. The #8 and #9 were built as curbsides and the #10 with full engine detail.
I've only done 3 fully detailed engines in my modelling life so I'm stoked with how it came out and I'm pretty happy to display #10 with the bonnet open in the cabinet.
Thanks for looking. Cheers ShawnS

I remember seeing those in MCM. Each one of them is great in itself. But as a group it is even better! You can tell the subtle differences between them. That tells me you did your research homework. I always liked the looks of the XJS but never really thought of it as a race car. I actually did one in 1/43 scale over a decade ago. Great job!
Thanks, Ismael

Thanks guys.
I never managed to get one of these kits when they were first released many years ago so when Hasegawa re-issued it in 2017 I jumped at the chance to build all three. I've spent the last 30 years collecting references from books, magazines and the internet and had a vision in my mind of how I wanted them to be and I'm really pleased with how they came out.
Cheers ShawnS

Hey Shawn...you did a GREAT job on ALL three my friend. The engine detail on the #10 is outstanding!! I've got a few of these kits also and want to build a full detail build like you did with the #10. Thank you for showing your outstanding work!! Very inspiring!

Excellent work on all three, I built one of these back on the original re, so wish I had grabbed a rerelease when they were cheaper than now. Love your work.

Very nice builds. As others have said engine detail is spot on. Very well done. I have one and still have not built it yet. One of these days....

Here's another quickie. I finished this one two weeks ago. Built mostly stock except for a slight change to the roll cage and Scale Production wheels. It was a pain to get those wheels to fit and I hope to never do it again.
Bathurst 1986. driven by John Goss and Bob Muir. Qualified 26th and finished 24th.
Tamiya TS 26 white and TS 15 blue and the decals are printed by Custom Hobby Decals from my artwork.
Thanks ShawnS
