I decided to make this months Theme Photo a build by a Member, instead on an actual racing photo. Looking at recently posted photos I definitely felt Bernards work exemplifies the Feel, Look and Purpose of this Board. In the future I am going to roll the dice and switch back and forth with Build pics and historic racing pics.. What Do You Think !! Congratulations to Bernard for building this months, and the first " Theme Photo" !! Chris Hale

Chris, Yet again, another great idea. I love the concept as it gives each of us just that little something extra to push our builds and pics to the next level.
Congrats to Bernard for being the 1st.

I was so gobsmacked when I saw my photo up there that it took me some time to know what to say. I'm still surprised and somewhat speechless. Having joined here only recently this serves as quite a welcome! Thanks for the recognition, Chris. More than anything, the "see-through" photo I made says as much about the quality and detail of this venerable AMT kit as it does about any abilities I might have as a modeler.
I think switching from time to time between inspirational historic photos and examples of the "look and feel" of the forum by members is a great idea. As a long time member of the TRaK board, having observed the struggles we have gone through there trying to preserve an actual popular vote "contest", and ultimately failing because so many members were either too intimidated or simply not finishing appropriate models often enough to support the competitions, I think this approach is the right one. When you judge to have found the right looking photo you'll know it and post it. In the meantime we members can stay focused on what we like best, our modeling endeavors. Thanks for creating this welcoming and stimulating environment for racing car modelers.

Bernard, as a fellow member of TRAK I think since 2009, I have noticed the turmoil in providing a monthly contest for the Banner photo, so I did decide to switch them with real vs model pics and not make it a contest, which is one of the main things I have tried to avoid in many aspects of our forum. This is not a contest in any way, in any thread or posts here, it is guys, and a lot of really Knowledgeable, Talented and Skilled builders here, but mostly Guys who enjoy sharing what we do, Build Model cars, learn from each other and share it. Thanks for Your Great Model and Photos...Chris
