Before I logged in the photo was a Chaparral and then it became a Ferrari when I logged in..Is it a magic photo? Both photos are great! JC and I decided to do the monthly change and I told him go ahead , try and keep the theme about the the Daytona 24, them I came across the Chaparral 2D pic and posted it, then just seconds later JC put up the Ferrari pic, so it was just a matter of seconds between the two of Us... I decided to keep the Ferrari 250 GTO pic since it says it all....... Chris

I have always been a true Ferraristi and this GTO was one of the reasons I became one. Pedro was a great racer for NART.

Just a coincidence but I'm waiting for the arrival of the kit for that very Ferrari GTO. And I agree Patrick, Pedro was one of the best.

Surprisingly tatty paint job. Granted, some it is due to grime and bug guts from running in an endurance race, but it doesn't appear to have been all that great to begin with. Model builders who put show car finishes on their race car models take note.

great banner pic, the 2D Chaparrals are my favorite of all the Chaparrals. Not even close to finishing the 2A-2C project and i have already started body prep on some 2D Chaparrals.

I used to write Jim Hall letters when I was a youngster and raced slot cars, Chaparrals and Corvettes were the Good Guys (they wore white cowboy hats) and Shelby Ford GT and Cobras the Bad Guys wore the Black Hats. Jim (Sandy Hall actually) ALWAYs sent me autographed Chaparral pictures signed by Jim and Hap Sharp, which I still have somewhere. Shell Oil did a commercial of Jim and Roger in a Grand Sport at Sebring 64. My Mom said I missed the commercial with Jim Penske and Roger Hall! I wish I cold find that commercial on YouTube but can'tfind it, anyone have it? Please post if you do. Sebring 66 was a disaster for Chaparral especially after WINNING it all in 65. My understanding is they tried some new piston rings and they didn't seal blowing out all the oil. So sad, they had a chance of winning that year.

Small car. Big engine. At speed. What's not to like?
I love the vibe you consistently express with your banner-picture choices, Mr. Hale.

Thanks Guys, JC and I work on the Banner pic monthly together, and usually we come up with a Goodie, JC presented this one, after summiting it for comment from me, we agreed. Remember, last month a 2D showed up for a few minutes but we took it down and went with the 250GTO, and in honor of Sebring we went with it for March. Thanks again Chris

Sorry guys this is the only pic available, I was sent it from The Model Car Club ( TMCC ) group I have belonged to for many years. It was large and I had to reduce it , still didn't get the whole rear in but its still a great pic I think it is an overlay of two pics of a real car but I am not sure how they got the X-ray effect..Chris

Thanks for the acknowledgement, Chris! I love the photo. In fact, it makes me thing that I would like to find a full 1/12th figure for the driver. I have one from Tamiya that hasn't any legs and has a full helmet.
Any suggestions?

Love the new banner pic! The Huracan GT3 is one of the most needed kits in 1/24! In my humble opinion, of course. Ben
