I don't profess to be an expert on the subject but will do my best to show the development of these cars. If anyone has additional information please share it. The 935 was the racing version of Porsche's 930 Turbo built to Group 5 specifications of the day. The 934 was the racing version of the 930 Turbo but built to Group 4 specs which allowed fewer modifications from the production car. This poster provides a good illustration of the evolution of the 935 werks cars starting in 1976 (935/76) up through 1978 (935/78). Not shown on the poster is the 935/79, there were (13) produced for the '79 season. Wikipedia 935 history: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_935

Wow, Great pics some I dont have too.. I have 20+ files on the various 935 versions, all the way up to this years 935 car. After 1979 and even leading up to, so many non-factory builders started doing 935's , the Kremer 1 to 5 series, the JLP 1 to 4 series, the Fitzpatrick car (3rd from last on your great photo essay) is not even close to having a few factory parts.. I watched in Horror at Riverside as Rolf Stommellen entered turn 9 already off the ground , the car went 20 feet up at 190mph and came down on the rear end, which killed him instantly, my latest hero race driver was gone and I watch it happen..I think of all the 935's the Andial version, AJ Foyt & Heston Penn won the Daytona 24 with one, these are my favorites, followed by the Momo cars. One detail that I never see in models is the double rear window. IMSA rules required the steel roof and rear window, to remain in its stock position, so from almost the beginning a second more Aero roof and window was added! BMW followed with a limited M3 production version to run in Group 5, I came so close to buying a used version it's ridiculous, Yolanda preferred the Audi Quattro A6 we ended up with. I have several book on just the 935 series and could go on and on. Thank You for the great Photo's Chris

So to my eye the favored rear wing of the privateer teams was the original 935 factory wing. I would like to see how the wing on the Tamiya 1/24 935 would look on the Beemax body.
