2whl, The framework just continues to look better and better. The rear body section fits like a custom hand crafted super expensive glove. And that exhaust system, Wow!! The fit and alignment is absolutely perfect. I've always struggled with the exhaust systems as alignment usually, at least for me was a nightmare. Close enough usually was good enough. But those are dead on perfect. Do the individual pipes have a premolded notch, or you just align them on a flat surface so that the flanges lay perfectly flat?

Joel, every pipe has a peg on each end. So I inserted them into the cyl heads and aligned them into the collector. Luckily, I managed to drill the holes in the collector just big enough that the pipes were a snug fit, so they held themselves in place.

2whl, the fit of the body shells really looks dead on. As for the white metal doors, they also look nearly perfect.

You see it as near perfect and I see more work needed. LOL More fiddling around with parts making sure there are no surprises. I want to make sure stuff fits right before I paint it. 474

That kit is so complex that even the slightest error in assembly could cause myriad fit issues down the road. Keep up the good work.

2whl, Agreed on being our own worst critics. Also, the fact that I'm seeing your build on a monitor at only the single angle and distance that you took each picture from limits my scope of the that part of the build. Up close in real life 1:1 we move around in and out,up & down, while comparing it to reference material of the real car, and commence once again to brow beat ourselves about how shoddy our work is.
I know 1st hand that I go into every build no matter what the kit is, nor it's accuracy with the highest of expectations, a model that can compete for a trophy at any IPMS Regional or National, at the NLL, or any other contest I can think of, and garnish the highest of highest accolades here on a list of truly outstanding modelers. The truth is that for me it's a pipe dream. The reality of it is way more then one step down. Sometimes I even end up crashing going over the old reality cliff.
But there is the other side of the coin, a rock solid build that has overcome every issue, especially of a super complex limited run multi media kit such as your 908 build. Honestly, and truthfully, you're doing an amazing job.
As for the last set of pictures of the rear tube chassis section and engine/transaxle, Holy Cow!! Just super impressive. Just the ability to be able to interpret the instructions to construct it isn't something that the average modeler can accomplish.

The rear frame really came out looking perfect. With the complete chassis one is easy fooled that it's the real deal. Love the built up exhaust system. I'm amazed at just how well the two sections over lap each other, and fit perfectly to the engine block.
Glad to see that the rear upper body shell fits like a glove.
Can't wait for your next update.

Thanks Ismael and Joel This is beautiful! How did I miss this? Thanks Bill and welcome to the party. Hopefully I can keep you entertained. I got some more parts on the engine. I noticed from the pics that the fan shroud shifted a bit. It will be held in place by the intake manifolds. The next hurdle was not of my making. For some reason, MFH supplied a distributor cap with 12 plug leads. But this engine is an 8-cyl with dual plugs, so I need 16 leads. I think they took the lazy way out and supplied the caps from the 917 engine. 723
