Well I just went through this whole thread. You are doing a fricken amazing job on this!! I am curious on how you managed to shoe horn the motor in the frame... I have so much to look forward to, when I begin my build.

Thanks Chris. Getting the motor in was a lot easier than I expected. I've heard others who have built the 917 say that getting the motor in was very difficult.

Bug eyes came with 850cc engines, my Midget started life as an 1100cc engine, but the hp was always finding a way to increase.
the exhaust system really looks fantastic. Can't wait for your next update.

That must have taken a wile. Looks good, I didn’t know the floor was opaque, The 917 floor is solid resin. Good to see you back at this one 😁

I think Hiro learned from the 917 kits about what to use to simulate the resin bits. The 917's have clear/opaque resin bits and this kit has a yellow/opaque blend. I think it looks more like the real car.

Paul, Glad that you've picked up the 908 again. The start of the chassis is most impressive. I keep on wondering just how difficult this chassis was to build in real life. Talk about a high skill set.

This update is kind of a small step, but one that had to happen before closing up the front chassis. Pedals and foot brace installed. I went to Michael's today looking for the 'tiger tail' that Chris Hale told me about, but they didn't have any. But I did find these small wires to use when I get to the dash and ignition boxes. 2151

Talk about a high skill set. Joel Thanks Joel. I would bet you had better be a good welder. If it were me, I'd want the engineer to specify what order he wanted everything welded in, so I'd have someone else to blame when it all warped after it came out of the jig.
With todays CNC robotics, it's probably an easy job, but back then by hand.......

Is all that detail included in the kit, or are you adding to it as you go along? It looks like a 1:1 car!
