That's the holy grail of car models to me. The last one I saw for sale was about $1500.00. I'll be watching with interest and total jealousy on this one. It was a very special car.

2whl, Thanks so much for posting your incredible 1/12 scale Gurney Eagle build here for all of us to enjoy it as you go through the process.
The aluminum cockpit once polished is absolutely perfect in look. No need to paint. And the engine: OMG !!, I'm just blown away both by the detail, as well as your skill in assembly, prep, and now those fuel lines. As for the wheels and tires, boy did you nail them but good.
I'd kill for either Ebbro or another kit maker to come out with either a 1/24 or 1/20 scale model kit of this truly iconic car. At least I got to see it run a few laps at the 1967 Watkins Glen F1 race before it dropped out once again.
The Eagle has always been my all time #1 favorite F1 car just in front of the 1967 Lotus 49.

2whl, Glad to finally have an update of our all time favorite F1 car. And what a fantastic idea to make a belt. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best ideas. The engine in your hand's looks absolutely just beyond words. Please, make the next update sooner then we waited for this one.

Since I only just brought this here, the other guys don't know when the last post was on Open Wheel. Aug 20, 2018. So about a year and a half. Most of the reason I don't get much bench time is because this is not hobby number 1. That is cycling. 223

2whl, That's more of a loved sport then a hobby, but at times it's sure hard to tell the difference.
I share my love of auto modeling with my other (newish) hobby: Sim Racing. I'm Old & Slow, but I really enjoy it, and I can't kill myself, or so they say.
Post when you can. I'll be here for sure.
